I don't really read the bible, but when I do, I think that I feel really good. Why is this?

Because of this.:
The awesome powerful Word of God, has an effect on ANY person that hears TRUTH. The almighty presence of God Himself, is in His Word.
This forum is living testimony this is true. Look at the atheists that are here and keep coming back everyday and ever hour.
WHY? They feel the presence of God. That is the only time they will ever feel it. They can NOT leave it.
They can NOT leave being around other Christians. The mere fact being around Christians, is the CLOSEST, they will ever get to God.

Because It is the Word of God. The Word of God is the Mother Word, It is edowed with a divine power over all other words of man. But Bible is not the only One, all the Holy Books of the other world religions are the Word of God.
"The object of God's teaching to man is that man may know himself in order to comprehend the greatness of God. The Word of God is for agreement and concord. If you go to Persia where the friends of Abha are many, you will at once realize the unifying force of God's work. They are doing their utmost to strengthen this bond of amity. Basically......
Its because the Bible is a heartwarming gift from God. God is our Creator. He made us; so he understands our thinking and emotions better than we do. Plus, God knows what we need in order to be happy.
(If only all would listen)

Because you are reading the words of God and Christ. I feel good when I go to church because I feel that I am in His flock and we are all feeling the same, and that is to worship God. You don't have to go to church to worship Him, but you just feel closer to Him. The same with the Bible, you are reading what was meant for you to read, and the Bible has wonderful stories, of strength, love, faith, romance, it has the path for us to follow and tells about those that did. You have to feel it to know it, and hard to explain. I know that God is with me, I do not have to prove it to anyone. It is real.

The bible is a medicine and is very refreshing for the soul. It is not about feeling good but a spiritual cleansing.

Because God's word is living and active. Jesus said He was the living water, and that His word will live forever. God's word converts the soul, it gives us instruction, peace and comfort. It never returns void. It is true and perfect and full of wisdom.

Because it is the word of God it is powerful. It can calm ones fears, take away depression, make you feel joy, and give you a hope for tomarrow
