My baby is 6 months old and seems to love music, especially piano. I'm thinking waaaaaay ahead here, but what age do kids usually start piano lessons?

It's never too early to get them to start listening to music! The earlier the better.

Once your baby is a year or so, see if you have any KinderMusic programs in your area. (Or play groups with music) Just so that he/she can get together with other kids the same age and make music! At that age it's mostly just for fun.

To actually start serious lessons, I'd say 3 or 4 is a good age. Just go with what feels right for your child once they get to that age. If they like it, then go for it! Never push them to do something they don't want to, though- they'll resent you later in life.

Music is just like language. It should be taught early on because that is when it is the easiest to learn. Start at 3-5 years old but do not restrict them to only one instrument. Let them experiment and find one they enjoy then around 6-7 start with formal lessons. Shop around for the best teacher even if it takes a year to find him/her. I suggest having them start a second language also around the same time, this will give them a great head start and wonderful back ground for the arts. I have a love for music and languages. I hope this has helped:-)

You are never too young to start music lessons as long as your baby can move around and use their muscles properly, I would say start your child around 5 or 6 years of age.

Probably best to let them decide. I've noticed that force feeding music lessons to some young kids result in negative feelings about performing music later in life. Shame since some would be awesome.

Start your baby listening to music now. Sing to it a lot. Simple tunes are good for babies.

Don't play Heavy metal, Rock, Pop or Techno. Important.

Soft music tunes with a melody so they can pick up the beat & rhythm. Clap in time to the music.

When they get older, use those little xylophones to do scales & simple tunes, about four you can start on the Piano.
You are a good mum.

When they start school is a good time. But make sure that the child wants to do it or else you will end up with problems.
