I had a puppy that had this trouble for a long time! (hes now 3 years old). We tried for months to let him sleep with us in bed. It didnt work out for the longest time though. So finally we bought one of those crates. We made them sleep in that for about 3 or 4 months, and he quit using the bathroom in the bed (he would only use it in the bed or on the couch!).
Its commonly called "Crate training" and honestly it works charms. Basically they see the crate as their den and wont use the bathroom in it until you take them out. They learn that way not to use the bathroom anywhere.
Give it a try for a few months, im telling you it will work. Then you can start letting your doggie sleep with ya again :)

You need to house train the dog first! Then it can be allowed to sleep with you! Is the dog housetrained the rest of the time? What time do you let the dog out before you go to bed? Do you reward the dog for a late night pee?
Crate training is the best way. Once the dog understands the concept of peeing outside, all the time, then you won't have a problem. But you have to teach the dog what is approrpiate. Dogs don't just "get it". They don't get the concept of a comforter and how much it cost, or a mattress, or a couch...
Stop disciplining the dog! Right now your dog has no clue what behavior you want. How can you correct a dog that does not know the desired behavior?

The most common mistake people make with training puppies is too big of a space for them to sleep in. If they have room to move around in there then they will pee in there...i.e your bed. They need to be in a smaller place where if they pee they have to lay in it...which they won't do cause they don't want to be near where they go pee. Try the suggestion of crate training...but you have to make sure it is not a big crate. Just enough room for them to lay down and turn around and such.

Puppies go through a similar pattern of phycological develpement as human children..this is the age when they become aware of their vulnerbilty and fearful of the unknown..
He is afraid to go outside, where the boogieman can find him by his scent, so he does it indoors, where it is covered by yours, his protector..You can't trust him to stay out by himself, but someone must stay with him....
Remove his water bowl a couple of hours before bedtime..take him out (go with him) and stay until he pees..
It might help to put nightlights on his path to the doggy door, and around the area where he pees when outside...He is likely not going very much after dark, as he feels particularly vulnerable when he is peeing..But he will empty his bladder better if you are with him..
You migh also give him a little chamomile tea to help him sleepp through the night, without stress..
Chamomile tea works very well, and is safe for him.
Dump it out of the teabag, and use 1 teaspoon for small breed, . Mix it in a *little* canned food, such as Mighty Dog, or Cesar's, and give about 30 minutes before he goes to bed. It will keep him happy, but reduce stress. He will likely sleep the night through..It can be given as needed.
If you brew a cup for yourself, you will sleep as a baby too!
I have potty trained all of my pups before placing them in homes, and have never used 'crate training' I am not a big fan of it for several reasons..

Make sure he pees before bedtime and don't let him drink for 2 hours before bed. Then put him on a short leish and tie him to the bedpost. He won't want to sleep near his pee, so if he can't get away from it, he won't pee there.
Unless he has a bladder infection and can't help it.

You need to take him out more often and for longer, and stay with him....( yes its tiring at that hour of the morning but they need to be taught and trained just like babies do.)
Unless its extremely hot dont let him drink too much at night.
It is not a comman practise for dogs to soil their bedding.
When my dog was a pup , I had a little bed set up beside my bed for him, and every single time I heard him stir I would get up and let him out. Puppies need to go often.
Be very patient, it should sort itself out soon.

I in basic terms presently have been given a canines that develop into 3 months previous. She is a yorkie poo that's plenty smaller than a retriever. whether, we potty knowledgeable her tremendously immediately thinking she is tremendously dumb. What we did is all of us started with newspaper over those pee mats from petco or petsmart i'm optimistic they have it at the two. they're blue and the canines can scent it yet we will not. It makes them desire to pee on it. So we took her out and stuff. as quickly as she develop into knowledgeable interior with newspaper, we delivered the newspaper outdoors and each and every time we took her out we suggested "outdoors" and she or he could come. She at last discovered that it truly is good to pass outdoors because of the fact we gave her treats each and every time she went accessible. Then interior we've been given smaller and smaller mats until eventually she had to earnings to pee on the mat. And now my canines is potty knowledgeable. P.S. She by no potential moist the mattress. different than as quickly as she peed in her mattress while she develop into ill

he is smelling the urine in the mattress and thinks that is the place to go...nature's miracle might help get the smell out and a doggie diaper is a good idea, they make washable panties with liners, if you need those. little dogs are stubborn..my yorkie and maltese love to go in the bath and pee on the rugs.....they are 7 yrs old....good luck!
