No it isn't. South Korea is part of the "Korea's" which is made up of North and South Korea. North Korea is communist where South Korea is not. But in no way is it a colony of the USA.

The 2 Koreas were divided during the Korean War, otherwise known as the Forgotten War, over 50 years ago. The United States helped the South during the war and US troops are currently stationed in South Korea at the DMZ (Demilitarize Zone) to help secure the boarder as there is still fear that Communist North Korea will invade the South.

No, South Korea has its own government and the US does not make their laws, and the US does not collect taxes from them.

are you serious?
Americans think that "they" own everything, don't they.
South Korea is it's own nation, thanks to US support during th Korean war. The communists ALMOST had it, too!

BTW, NO soldiers, North, South or America are IN the DMZ - they are stationed right alongside it though.
