You probably overexerted your muscles, and they are just sore from exercising. When you stretch, you loosen up the muscles which ease the pain and increase heat circulation, kind of like using a heating pad for back pain. When you don't stretch, your muscles shrink back down and tighten up again. It shoud go away in a few days. Try alternating heat compresses and ice packs.

For your height and weight, you are lifting too much weight. You need to start out with lighter weights and increase them as your calves strengthen. Also, you need to put more lbs. on your body because a person your height needs to weigh at least between 160-180 lbs. Add more protein and vitamins, as well as potassium to your diet. That way you can bulk up and avoid leg cramps. Also, be sure to stretch before and after doing the calf raises.

damn, you're skinny! Anyway, your muscles hurt because you overexerted them -- lifting more than your own weight is a lot! I think the fibers (the sarcomeres, I believe) get tiny tears in them when they are not used to such activity/ stretching, so they ache as your body works to mend these tears. Soreness can continue for a few days or more. It will lessen with time. Take some NSAIDs (naproxen sodium (aleve) or ibuprofen (advil)) to ease the pain and soak in a hot bath or jacuzzi.

You have "charlie horses" man./ The best thing to do is stretch them out before anymore exercise...even then...give them a rest, and then go back to exercising.

Ibuprofen and massage. Walking moderately helps, too. You have torn and damaged muscle fibers, so go easy until you feel better.

They're still healing - tomorrow or the next day - they will be better. Try some tylenol for now.
