Again taken in the literal context - turning the other cheek is about not being re-active but pro- active. Think about - in life if I punched someone literally because I felt insulted there would be people lying on their back sides all around me. Turning the other cheek is not about you not standing your ground but rather not lowering yourself to the level of infantile behaviour displayed as someone you might see as your oppressor.

I ended up divorced. But I am a newer and better person in the long run. God redeemed all but a little of it and I am looking forward to see Him redeem the rest.
