I have only seen this doctor twice. He's a specialist and I may only see him once more in about a month. He gave me literature on a treatment I need to get. I have to call him tomorrow with a few questions/concerns. Would it be okay to also ask him to dinner? He works in a large clinic. So, if it's an ethical issue, I could always see someone else for my treatment. Any suggestions?

If he is a gynecologist don't bother asking him.

I agree with one of the above replies that doctors will not go out with their patients. However, if, after you have completed your treatment, and if you still are interested in asking him out, I do not think that that will be an issue. Of course, you would need to make your intentions and objectives clear as he might think that you are wanting to thank him for the treatment.

No this would be very inappropriate and if he really is a good doctor he will say no anyway because it would be unethical for him to go out with a patient. Seeing someone else is not the point he was your doctor so he should not date you. Look elsewhere honey.
