Likely due to your sleeping position impinging on the nerves going into the arm. It is difficult to say why on this board, but I can say with confidence that if you lie on your stomach then this can certainly do it. Try to lie on you back if possible and support the natural curve of your neck. There are cervical pillows that might just do the trick for you.

Put your pillow or a rolled up towel under your neck, instead of under your head. You apparently have a previous neck injury and have lost some of the curvature of the cervical spine.. You increase it when propping your head up on a pillow or anything else. Thereby applying pressure to the brachial plexus and causing neurasthenia.
Seems like a rather strange topic to find this question.

Your arm is going to sleep because you are lying on it, put your arm under the pillow or away from your body when you are lying on your side...
