The reason banana is curved is because the "bunches" of bananas grow on one stalk, one bunch behind another (actually on top of each other), hence crowding each other.

In the picture above, the yellow parts between each red "flower petal" is what later on grows into a banana.
As you can see, it is physically crowded in that space, hence the "fruits" bend to find best space to grow into.
