I have an orange male tabby between 4-6 months old. is it possible for him to be sexually excited by me? I wonder if that seems werid but I did see him umm get errect after petting him once. I mean all cats pur, he purs like all the time and I was wondering if he likes me more cuz I'm female? does he know I'm female? do I have a certain cent? anything like that? and no I am not a perv, jus real curious. He's been living with me and my friend for 3 weeks now

Some cats just LOVE being petted. One of mine used to love it so much he would start drooling if you patted him long enough. I don't think its a sexual thing. Just a nice feeling of comfort and companionship. He certainly isn't going to scruff you and have his way with you if thats what your worried about. Cats generally don't hump things like male dogs will.

I think that your answer would be yes. Male cats or almost any male animal for that matter can smell female. he could be hitting his growth age. I know that if you get him fixed it will stop. By chance you may have been on your peroid and he could have smelt it, and by nature he was trying to do what he thought was right. Dont worry about it and if it gets to be to big of a problem just get him fixed. that will also keep him from peeing on things later on in his life. good luck

male cats get turned on by female pheremones regardless of what species of female is exuding them. Just as female cats cozy up to men for the same reason.
