Drink a couple glasses of water before you go to bed. OR, if you're really desperate, you can make yourself throw up, not recommended though, because your mouth will have a sour taste when you wake up.

My personal favorite is to drink a glass of V8 or tomato juice before bed. If you have B vitamins take those too, alcohol robs you body of these.

If you do wake up with a hangover, slice and salt a tomato, eat that with a couple aspirin and a glass of water and go back to bed for 30 minutes or so. The tomato really does help.

And as people above noted, do not forget to drink water, having a hangover and being dehydrated at the same time is awful!

"Beer before liquor, never sicker. Liquor before beer, you're in the clear!" ;) That and, you should stick to one type of drink all night-don't mix. Drink only top shelf liquor. If you use a mixer, preferably use a clear mixer like tonic water, club soda, cranberry juice, nothing like milk or creme, orange juice or sour mix-it's too heavy and will make you nauseous. Alternate between drinking your alcoholic beverage and a glass of water to avoid dehydration-which causes the headaches. Try to eat something so that you don't have an empty stomach while drinking and before you go to bed, open a can of Coke or Pepsi and leave it out so that it will go flat. When you get up in the morning, drink it to settle your tummy if you feel nauseous. But above all, know your limit and just say no before you drink more than you can handle.

First of all, have a good dinner before you go out. You will get too drunk too fast if you have an empty stomach. After you have been drinking for a bit and have a good buzz, alternate glasses of water with drinks so you stay hydrated and don't lose your buzz. When you get home, have something to eat to absorb any alcohol in you stomach. When you are ready to go to bed, drink as much water as you can and go to sleep. If you wake up in the middle of the night for any reason, drink more water (as much as you can without getting sick) and go back to sleep. The trick is to keep yourself hydrated so you don't feel hungover. You could also try "Chaser". Its capsules you take before drinking. I tried them and they worked as far as I didn't feel hungover the next day, but I still felt kind of weird.

Substitute a glass of water between every drink. It will keep your body from getting dehydrated which results in a hangover

If you over-drink,you will absolutely have a hangover, however it is always helpful to take an aspirin or two before going to bed and drinking a glass or two of water to help rehydrate.

Stick to one kind of drink for the entire evening. People who end up dead drunk are those who start mixing drinks and those who take one drink after another on an empty stomach, or mix them with energy drinks. Between one drink and another drink plenty of water and when you get home take 2 or 3 fish oil omega three fatty acid capsules. That really helps.

Better yet, don't drink.

Drink three times the water vs. the alcohol you are drinking. Yes it certainly helps to have a full stomach before you start drinking, and most importantly don't mix, if you start with beer stay with beer, if you start with wine stay with wine, and of coarse if you are drinking a mixed drink stay with a mixed drink, but hard liquor with a few ice cubes is the best way to drink, just remember to drink water with it.
