Glucosamine and chondroitin is often prescribed for the arthritis in horses, as well as dog, and cats. Check with a vet as to the proper dosage, as more isnt necessarily better. DO NOT give the cat excedrin, or tylenol/acetomenophin, as it will destroy the cats liver, and once in the cats system, there is no hope for recovery. I would ask the vet if there are any other otc medications which might help. I hope this helps.

Take Millie to a vet who will check out her condition and probably prescribe a suitable medication for her arthritis. The medication may well be something you can get `over the counter.'
12 isn't really old for a cat and, with the proper care, Millie should live for several more years.

You can give her glucosomine. One of the better brands is cosemin. You give a loading dose for a week or 2, then go to a maintenance dose. You will see results normally in about 3 months, but it works really well on arthritis for dogs, cats, horses and human. It's not instant, though; give it time to work.

Some of the medicines used for humans can be deadly for cats, including aspirin. Here are a couple of vendors that sell arthritis remedies for cats.
