Why yes, yes it's true. Of course, it's not a sort of attraction that usually lasts. SOME people thrive on conflict and appreciate that another person can "balance" them out, but usually the solid relationships that survive are built on similarities and not differences. In the end you have to be able to relate to the person.

Here's the thing: That phrase is very true, but only to a certain extent. Basically, you cannot be so alike that you are exactly the same, because you would be completely bored. Part of the fun of relationships is learning and experiencing things you've never done. BUT, you cannot be so opposite that you don't agree on anything and have absolutely nothing in common. You need to be different enough that you don't already know everything about each other on your first date, but similar enough that you aren't always fighting.

Okay, here's what we learned in psychology. True opposites do not attract. But if you're someone who likes coddling others, you'll be attracted to someone who likes attention. They're not the same, or opposites, they're just complementary. It's all about complementary traits.

In some ways yes, but in general, the more people have in common, the more they will like eachother. Sadists are attracted to masochists, and dominant people like submissive people, but people who like heavy metal don't get along with people who like Donny Osmond. But in terms of basic personality and physical traits, commonalities tend to attract.

In certain aspects, physical and personality, yes it would seem that opposites attract. However, if these two dont have the 'same' goals....

Yes, people change (no doubt).
Opposites attract = yes and appearance is the front line.

Not necessarily, but people do often seek out a partner who's strengths match their weaknesses. Someone who is shy will often admire the quality of being outgoing and is more likely to want to have a relationship with them. etc. etc.
