Why is it Bible this, Bible that...I really don't think a book that says a guy raised from the dead and did a bunch of stuff that anyone with a decent brain knows is ridiculous is a good source for a history lesson. So what OTHER written evidence than the bible is there of jesus existance? I just saw an answer where someone said that there is more evidence for jesus than of Alexander the Great...Ummmm...suuuure. I would actually be willing to be a christian and give it another chance if you could actually prove the guy the religion is based around existed with another source than an obviously fictional, contradicting book, that, in it's original version states the world is flat, but it seems jesus forgot to build a beautiful lighthouse, Name a city after him or get written about in all the ancient texts from a third person, non-biased perspective giving detailed accounts of his life from all nationalities...so if I am wrong, plz tell me where I can find these.

The Historian Josephus recorded (among many other things) the actual existence of Jesus. Most scholars, even those who deny the deity of Christ don't deny that Jesus existed, they just try to deny who he claimed to be.
And where do you find that the Bible says the world is flat? It sometimes speaks in human language like "the sun rises" although we know it doesn't really rise, but the earth rotates. You have to understand that it uses human language and concepts to explain things to people.

You desire proof that he DIDN'T exist? How approximately a few proof, ANYTHING, that he truthfully did? Fact: there isn't a unmarried list of Jesus's lifestyles rather than the gospels. Hundreds of scribes, tourists, historians, and political leaders lived and traveled within the field in which he's mentioned to have existed. NONE recorded any illustration of assembly this kind of man or woman; of listening to approximately or witnessing any of his movements, teachings, fans, or so-referred to as miracles? There isn't any list of the supernova that heralded his delivery, no list of five,000 men and women being fed with a couple of loaves of bread, of a person strolling on water, of the lifeless being resurrected, of the 3 nighttimes that supposedly blanketed the land on the crucifixion, and so on. and so on. Do you believe that, perhaps, one of the earth-shattering matters Jesus used to be supposedly doing could had been famous by way of a minimum of among the writers of the day? Especially while a ways much less momentous parties have been effectively recorded and preserved THOUSANDS of years earlier than the New Testament used to be written? Perhaps the truth that, even probably the most religious biblical pupils respect that the gospels weren't written by way of the authors which are claimed, have been written a long time after Jesus supposedly lived, and have been amended, abridged, edited, and mistranslated mostly through the years possibly a clue that it is all fiction? No? How approximately the truth that the tale itself... the virgin delivery, the miracles, the healings, the resurrections, the crucifixion, the ascension... is thoroughly plagiarized from religions that existed 1000's of years earlier than? These are info. Look them up, after which inform me why I will have to need to end up to you that anything does not exist. But you would larger convey a few proof that is extra cast than the Bible. That's only a very ancient comedian e-book.

The first gospel, likely Mark, was written no less than 30 years after Jesus. The first written witness to Jesus, the letters of Paul, were written at least ten years after Jesus left, by a man who had never met him.
Flavius Josephus was born in 37, well after Jesus died. He wrote his Antiquities of the Jews AFTER all the gospels were written, and there is evidence that the passages about Jesus were interpolated in by a later writer, possibly Eusebius, the great Christian "historian".
The other sources are very indirect, writing more about the followers of Jesus than Jesus himself.
It's okay. Jesus is in good company. Moses and Gautama Buddha don't have much of a paper trail either (Unless you believe Moses wrote the Torah as a third person account of his own life.) I guess they were just too busy making the world a better place to write their memoirs.
So either Jesus was a hoax designed by some Hellenized Jews to convince people to be nice to each other, or he was the real deal who didn't place a priority on properly documenting his own existence. Take your pick.

You now what I don't know the answerto this question, but I am going to say this. I like the fact that a man named Jesus was born of a virgin and died to save me. Now why wouldn't you want to believe that? We are so selfish to waste the time we have on this earth by questioning the o ne thing that has made it possible for us to live forever. not here but in heaven with our Lord and savior. I love that I can say I am a Christian and know where I;m going when I die and I am not afraid of death, how it happens is a different story but none the less I love the Lord and he loves me and by FAITH I believe. Just beacuse you can't see it doesn't mean its doesn't exsist. You see I don't need to have additional proof I have all I need rught un my heart and soul. The Holy Spirit is a powerful presence with in all of us if we aknowledge it and BELIEVE. I'm not a Holy roller just a Christian, Good luck with your search for the truth. You really don't have to look far, if you look inside your self God put it there from the moment you existed.

What Kevin said is correct the historian Josephus record the existence of Jesus; however Josephus did not say that he was the son of God just that he was a rabbi (sorry if I am miss-spelling this) who was charged with heresy and threatening the Pax Romana (Roman Peace) or more correctly the stability of a province within the Roman Empire.

Don't start with a negative assumption that Bible is wrong or right when it says about Jesus. Start seaching for the truth unbiasedly. Read materials from Josephus which mentions about Jesus: Antiquity of Jews. The problem with starting with a negative assumption is that you will find problem in every answer and believe what you believe to be right.
I dont want to argue with you. But you must be too intelligent to prove Jesus did not exist.. Browse through also: www.icr.org

You say Jesus did "a bunch of stuff that anyone with a decent brain knows is ridiculous". I assume you're referring to the miracles he performed. But I have SEEN people healed by the power of God. I know people who have been healed from multiple sclerosis, cancer, permanent spinal damage.
I know a young lady who had a baby this year, and that baby wasn't expected to survive. The doctors told her to abort it. It had serious heart defects, wasn't growing properly, and had no spleen (without which you can't live). She and her husband prayed, and the baby was born a healthy weight, WITH a spleen. The heart problems are much less serious than expected, and have been successfully operated on. The doctors couldn't understand it, but we could - we see miracles in our lives as evidence of His existence.

You don't want to believe the Bible and all of it's history. That's your prerogative.
But I know Jesus lived and I know that He died on the cross for you and for me. I know that He is the only Begotten Son of God, our Father in Heaven. I know this is true, and neither you or anyone else is going to try and prove me different. I hope that someday SOON that I will be able to return to heaven and be with God and Jesus Christ. Jesus is our Salvation.

I don't have answer for you either way... but I am curious to know more about the original version of the Bible stating Earth is flat. I have never heard this before... I have heard of men thinking Earth was flat... some even today... but never the Bible. Could you state your source. I would like to read it out of curiosity.

Some would probably argue that the four corners of the earth are references to north, south, east, and west.
