Well it all comes down to what kind of a car do you want and what do you need. The Impreza 2.5i comes with Subaru's All Wheel Drive system standard, so if you live in climates that see a lot of inclament weather it may be a benefit. The Civic offers 40 miles per gallon, which could be beneficial to owners with long commutes, saving them time (from having to go to the gas station less often) and money.

I would extensively test drive both and decide which one I liked better. Both are very reliable cars but have fairly different target audiences. The Civic is more mainstream while the Impreza is mainly geared towards buyers looking for an affordable AWD automobile.

I don't know about the Subaru, but I researched the Honda Civic a lot. Critics and Users have nothing but good things to say about it. I ended up buying a used Audi, three years old, same price as a new Civic, both top loaded. What can I say? I like luxury, leather, wood, all wheel drive, powerful engine. It's gonna cost me more in insurance and gaz. The Civic has a great resale value.

both are very good cars. the impreza is a bit rommier, and has a but peppier engine stock. what are your needs? the honda will do better on gas, but the impreza will be a more comfortable ride especially with passangers. not a huge difference, but if you had to sit in the back of either definately noticeable. the honda has a better warranty, but with todays market the subaru will hold its value a bit better. personally, i'd take the honda.

Get the Honda Civic. It looks a lot cooler than the Subaru.

subaru is a sporty beast and civic is a gas saver toy. if i were you i would buy impreza since civic cant win no race. but if u r planning to buy for a normal driving and are willing to save some gas then go with civic. but dont forget that people dont survive in civic during accidents!
goodluck!

the new Civics are very nice and they no longer have different engines for base models, meaning you can plop your money down on a DX or LX and still get the same motor that is in the EX. Use to be non-VTEC in the lower models and you have to get the EX to get a VTEC motor.

The SI ofcourse is the exception, they have the hi-performance engine.

Also, Civics are extreamly supported by the aftermarket and parts are easy (and cheaper) to come by
