13 is considered an unlucky number mainly by the muslim religion, Such as the number 4 is considered unlucky by many Asian races.
In fact many Asians will not buy or live in a house which has a 4 in the address.
However the Muslim religion in general believe in everything they are told, so for an example an Arab would not stay in a hotel with a 13th floor.
Arabs are amongst the richest people in the World and places like Las Vegas want to attract them, Consequently they do not have a 13th floor.

13 was once considered a very lucky number.
It basically comes down to the 13 Full Moons in a year thing.
The Catholic church wanted to deter people from Pagan practices and associations of all kinds... including the
luck and power associated to the number 13 because of
the Lunar (and therefor Goddess) connection.
Yes, because of the Lunar connection, 13 is a preffered number
for number of Witches in a Coven.
Additionally the 13 apostles bit is true.. BUT another slant on it
is that there were 13 Apostles including Mary Magdeline.
Again, with the Catholic Church wanting to subdue women
(who were viewed as equals with men, and powerful in
their own right by Pagans) Mary Magdeline was pushed to the background, and the church didn't want any mention of the 13th Apostle.
It's all about domination.
Basically, those who allow themselves to be dominated subscribe themselves to the belief in 13 being unlucky...
and thus through belief create their own reality wherein 13 is unlucky for them.
Those who chose to own their Own Power see and feel the truth of 13 being a Powerful and Lucky number.

13 is really an unlucky number - I agree...
Just see around you - everyone shuns it - no one is happy if 13 is their birthday - they wear a ghost look if a marriage is on the 13 of anything....
house no 13 is always a "oh no"
can anyone get unluckier than this - when you are not wanted - people wish you dont exist and everyone flees when they see you anywhere ??
Poor Number 13 :(

I think is started with a big stock market crash that happened on Friday the 13th, many people who were wealthy were suddenly dirt poor and many committing suicide.
Believe it was called black Friday, ie 13 being an unlucky number.

I think it goes back to covens and witchcraft. 13 members is a coven, the 13th member being the devil. Ooooooohhhh.
Funny how some things will stick. They nailed some poor hippie to a cross almost 2000 years ago and I'm still hearing about it.

Within Paradise were four infernal regions, seas, and sacred mountains. There are four watches of the night and day, quarters of the moon. There are four quarters to the earth. Native American: As in other cultures, ceremonies and ritual acts are repeated in fours. The Native Amercican cultures have used the number 4 most frequently as in the four cardinal directions. The four winds are depicted by the symbol of the cross and by the symbol of the swastika. The swastika as some misbelieve was not created by Hitler. It was instead borrowed from the Native American and occult beliefs of which Hitler had great interests. Hitler derived his "insanity" of power from his misdirected interpretation and use of metaphysical principles. He used knowledge that his human consciousness couldn't possibly understand and the use of this knowledge for personal gain is part of the imbalance that creates the chaos and karma.
Buddhism: The Damba Tree of Life has four limbs and from its roots four sacred streams of Paradise that represent the the four boundless wishes of compassion, affection, love impartiality. It also represents the four directions of the heart as well.

Chinese: Four is the number of the Earth, symbolized by the square. There are four streams of immortality. Four is even an number. It is Yin in polarity.
Christian: Four is the number representing the body, with three representing the soul. Again we see the theme of the four rivers in Paradise. There are four Gospels, Evangelists, chef arch-angels, chef-devils, four Fathers of the Church, Great Prophets. There are four cardinal virtues--prudence, fortitude, justice, temperance. The are four winds from which the One Spirit is said to come. There are four horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Revelation: There four angels standing at the four corners of the Earth, holding back the four winds of the earth (Rev 7:1). The great multitude from every nation, tribe, people and language (four-fold description) - Rev 5:9 11:9 13:7 14:6 the four-fold description indicates that these people come from all over the earth.
Egyptian: Four is the sacred number of Time, measurement of the sun. Four pillars support the vault of heaven. There are four canopic jars placed around the dead at the four corners guarded by the four sons of Horus who are associated with the cardinal points. In the Hermetic it is the divine quaternity.
