Anxiety and depression are basically a lack of peace in your life. The bible says a lot about finding peace in your life. The basic idea is that righteousness (obeying God and avoiding sin) leads to peace. I strongly urge you to study and find out what sin is, so you can learn to avoid it and win your battle.

Here are just a few passages that I thought might help you.

====================
Love and Fear the Lord, and you will find peace.
-----
I will listen to what God the LORD will say; he promises peace to his people, his saints—but let them not return to folly. Surely his salvation is near those who fear him,that his glory may dwell in our land. Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.

Psalm 85:8-10
=====================
Love God's laws and obey them, and you will find both peace and stability.
-----
Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.

Psalm 119:165
=====================
Seek wisdom, and you will find peace.
-----
Her(Wisdom's) ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed

Proverbs 3:17
======================
Don't take fools seriously, or you'll have no peace.
-----
If a wise man goes to court with a fool, the fool rages and scoffs, and there is no peace.

Proverbs 29:9
======================

If your stress comes from trouble at home, this might help:
-----
Discipline your son, and he will give you peace; he will bring delight to your soul.

Proverbs 29:17
======================
Be steadfast in your trust in God, and you will have perfect peace.
-----
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.

Isaiah 26:3
======================
Be righteous (obey God and don't sin) and you'll find peace.
-----
The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.

Isaiah 32:17
======================
Don't Sin.
-----
"There is no peace," says the LORD, "for the wicked."

Isaiah 48:22
======================
Sin is our only real reason to have stress, and Jesus took care of that.
-----
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Isaiah 53:5
======================
The Holy Spirit brings peace.
-----
The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace

Romans 8:6
======================
Apply God's word to your life, and peace will result.
-----
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:9
======================
Get with a church, pray together for each other and for your political leaders, so you will live in peace.
-----
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

1 Timothy 2:1-2
======================
Being disciplined and learning from it brings peace.
-----
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

I'm a committed believer and I also have anxiety & depression.
I know that some of it is organic and needs to be treated with medication, at least until it can be managed.
I know the Psalms are very comforting, I especiall like Psalm 91, I remember 9-1-1. Psalm 91:1 when I get anxious. I also like Lamentations 3:18+ or so,
Trust that God will take care of you and that He has a purpose and even though you have anxiety, there will be a peace deep inside that God will give you, that you know He is using it and will work things out for good.
I actually gave a testimony about God helping me with depression about 5 years ago. Someone came up to me about a year later and said they were going to kill themselves and someone talked them into going to church that night, before they went. God has used the most embarassing & shameful things in my life to help other people.
When I forget to take my medication a few days in a row, I have God's word to comfort me, but I seriously don't feel happy or joyful or anything. So, if you need medication, don't be too proud to take it. And join a Christian recovery group. They'll give you Biblical ideas, too.

People are probalby going to post a bunch of passages that say Trust in God, etc. First, the problem is that a lot of people say that they are trusting in God for things that he has never promised. You were never promised a nice easy life.

Read Matthew 6. There is not a quick fix to anxiety. It took me years to overcome, and now it is no problem at all. I would pray about it sincerely and develop a plan to deal with it. Realize the circumstances that surround when you will have an attack, and do your best to not let your emotions go wild, but respond correctly. It would be good to share this with someone close to you who could help keep you accountable to trying to keep your emotions in check. Another question to ask yourself is, what does this behavior accomplish for me? You panic for a reason. Just think about it. You are going to have to want resolution more than the attacks. Don't expect a quick fix or instant healing. It is a growing process that is sometimes hard and painfull.

Joy of the Lord and stuff. Your present focus is creating your present feelings. Check out Psalms 3:5, 16:11, 147:3, Proverbs 13:12 and John 15:11.

Honestly, I don't recommend reading the Bible when you have depression or anxiety, especially if you believe in Hell. It's too easy to read a verse and think "Ohmygod! I'm going to Hell!" I recommend behavioral health treatment from a qualified professional. I also recommend "The Feeling Good Handbook" by David Burns.

Regarding anxiety, from Matthew 6:

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Regarding depression, Isaiah 40:29-31 "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

I am unaware of any specific passage in the Bible which deals with anxiety or depression. However, I believe that we are commanded to care for the body which God has given us as best we can; I also believe that God gave us a brain for a reason. While it is definitely good for one's health, both physical and mental, to have faith, I believe it is also incumbent upon a person who is ill in any way to use the brain God gave him/her, and to seek treatment. I do not believe this in any way lessens one's faith; it simply shows that you are accepting and using the gift of intelligence that you have been given.

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Pray with all you heart and soul that the Lord would take the demons from you and cast them out. Ask for forgiveness and guidance to make right choices in your life. For give your self because he has forgiven you, If you ask and believe it with all you heart it will be so God didn't give his only son to die on the cross for our sins only for us to continue to think we are alone we are not. PRAY ask for prayer, talk with your family get some other assistance if you have to don't let the evil take over. Bless you:)

I don't know ,but it describes the state of " screams and gnashing of teeth," any correlation? Don't worry you are not in Hell. The good news is that you can still turn this game around. Focus on where the problem is not. You are creating your successes as you are creating your tragedies. Trust yourself. The power to change is inside of you . Let yourself get fighting mad. What? You won't even fight to save your own life?Show me.

As a Christian I advise you to seek out the help of a competent counselor perhaps your religious leader (Pasteur, priest etc...) can help you find one. Then thank God for blessing you and others by inspiring people who study these afflictions and look for remedies.
