ok i'm getting a piercing on saturday night. i just don't know what one i want to get me and my friends are all goin to with me. now thing is i've looked them both use i jsut don't know what one i want to get. so i'm asking others to help. keep in mind i'm 19, i'm half goth, i live in a big city, and i'm abou to go to collage for comp graphs.

i already have a lip ring, so i know how to take care of both. and i'm half goth kuse i'm goth when i have the chance to dress that way.

Being goth has nothing to do with the piercings you get. I'm more of a business person during my day job hours and I have 23 piercings. After work, I'm a piercer...so it doesn't matter what group you fit it.
I would say avoid the tongue. I have several things against them and since you already have an oral piercing, you will be increasing risk for gum recession and chipped/cracking teeth and weak enamel. If you are going to get a navel piercing, I would get one on the bottom of the navel if your anatomy allows for it. It's different and would probably fit your off beat lifestyle and look a little better.

The cool thing about a navel Peirce is you can 'dress up' your pierce too- I've seen all sorts of goth belly button jewelry- very hot, very fun!
I've seen a few goth tongue bars as well, but they are much harder to show off.
Goth navel rings I've seen, a skeleton hand holding a pearl (white or gray pearl);. Lips and fangs with a drop of blood. Spiders, jeweled webs, roses in all colors- (purple, red, black, blue, white, and so on) and many others.

I had the same choice last year, after talking to the person who done the piercings, he adviced me that he didn't like doing the tongue piercings, and in most cases try to talk a client out of it. Simply because the tongue is a muscle, and as for any muscle in the body, if puctured will cause long term effects, and apparently when the tongue is pierced after so long - he meant years and years - the muscle may become useless. Needless to say, I got my navel pierced.

I have both pierced, and personally, I like my tongue piercing better; it never bothers me, and most of the time I forget it's there..! I don't wear a belly ring most of the time because I tend to bump into stuff and come close to ripping it out...As for pain, they're both a piece of cake..But I think I have a high tolerance for pain...
