I believe in God and pray everyday, and the Da Vinci Code is not the first book to say that maybe the church did not reveal EVERYTHING. What do you think would happen if the Vatican gives evidence that Jesus was married and had a child? PANIC! I loved the book even if a lot of romance is wrapped around what I believe could be the truth. And you know what? It really does not matter if it is all true because all of Jesus teachings remains as valuable and the kind of life he had does not change that. And do not forget that the church is lead by MEN who have flaws and make mistakes. Jesus came to give and teach love and that is what the book says. Open your minds!

i guess it could be possible, but its more likely that the freemasons werent anything other than a crafting guild until the 16th century. As for the origin of the crafting guild pre-16th century, its murky. I guess its possible that they were related to the knights templar, or the egyptian pyramid builders, but its not really substantiated. Its more likely that their rituals and symbology were started after they became a club, rather than a crafting guild, when their compentancy as 'masons' couldnt really be determined by the quality of their work, since they werent actually practicing masons. Most of the higher level information in freemasonry is very recent, and very dependant on the type of masonry in question. Its allot like christianity, in that there are several different flavors, and several different 'histories' associated with it. Fiction is a wonderful thing. Especially when its well researched. I doubt you will find a satisfactory answer to this question.

We went round the Vatican museum last week- a large group with a tour guide. In the Sistine Chapel there is a depiction of the Last Supper. A group of American tourists started asking LOADS of weird questions about this picture. The tour guide replied that- in common with all the other guides- he no longer answers questions on the Last Supper picture. He was bored to tears with the whole thing.

Of course it's a load of hogwash. But people are very gullible. That's what sells books!

No. There are things about the so-called 'evidence' that are not brought out in either the movie or the book that just don't fit -- like the so-called Gospel of Judas, having not been written until about A.D 200; an obvious hoax.

It was a fun book to read though. Pure fiction; just well researched. (Haven't seen the movie yet.)

I think most of it is drawn from the authors own imagination but that parts are based on handed down myths and legends.

Through the ages there has been much speculation to say that a Holy Grail does not exist.

Why is it considered Blasphemous to think that Jesus had a family of his own. I do believe that the man called Jesus had a life that we do not know about.

It is indicative of something being hidden - the amount of information alone speaks for itself. As for Davinci painting codes as such into his paintings - this is open to interpretation and HIS point of view.

Codes can be found anywhere we are wanting to see them

A lot of his facts are accurate - even the masonic references, which could not be known without access to inside information.

Bits and pieces of it, yes, but not all of it put together. It is based largely on a loose interpretation of symbols and legends.
