I've served 8 years and and ETS'ed active army as an E-5. Now I have to report to some Nasty Girl Unit in 1 week about 20 miles from my home. Rumor is they are deploying in four months. I am so disillusioned with the war and everthing that I could puke.I thought I was done. Now this. Has anyone else with over 7 years been called back? I'm a 92Y.

Take your DD 214 with you when you report, your jumping to conclusions and it could be a paper glitch. Then again BOHICA!

OK Sergeant your in supply that must be a critical MOS right now or you wouldn't be recalled and you were obviously a IRR soldier. I'm going to tell you a few things that might help you 1st you can apply for a hardship discharge wife dying your the last son in the family (the Sullivan's) Pvt. Ryan that kinda thing the other one is really extreme and has a huge price but kept one of my troops from deployment you want to know what he did E-mail me and i will give you details like i wrote its extreme and has a price but is guaranteed to keep you state side and im only doing this because I feel if and i say if you have done a tour in the sand box i believe you have served your time and the policy of sending men back for multiple tours is justasking guys to hang it out to far you only have so much luck

Your duty.

You ETS'ed from AD, you joined the NG (you must have, they can't call you up after your 8 year commitment is up, and DEP counts toward that) for the money and now your unit is being called up? Go to war or go to jail young man.
If I am right about the above... then you are a worthless coward and deserve to be shot.

If I am wrong, then I appologize in advance.

Please add detail, did you join The National Gaurd after ETSing?

If not then they shouldn't be able to call you up as long as you fullfilled 8 active duty years, unless they changed something recently. I got out in 97, after 7 years 2 months, plus 4 months DEP (delayed entry program) they had only 2 months after I got out to rexcall me, I remember that I got shitty drunk that night. My time was over, I did my time, let the young kids watch the line.

IRR recall? It happens.

You have a choice, go to the NG, or go to jail. You have been recalled. You can choose not to go, but you have to remember that you will be considered AWOL. If they do deploy, you would face the additional charges of Failure to Move, Desertion, to name two.

Go and get it over with. Personally, I'm waiting to get the phone call myself.

Did you join the NG after ETSing from active duty?

What date did you enter and leave active duty?

IF you did 8 years, and you didn't join NG, I don't think that they can call you back up.

You signed on the line. Live with it and stop complaining! And if you have 8 years in, you have had at least one chance to get out! Also, after you are in long enough to take retirement, I will bet that you do not complain about that, will you? No one made you re-enlist!

Can people still safely relocate to Canada? They did during the Viet Nam war. Unlike them, you served your time, so there is no shame.
