Have you tried this site:

I've used this site to find my Nissan Titan. All it has are cars from dealers around the country, no other fluff.

The link I gave you are for cars in the Houston, TX area. The site also allows you to refine your search by mileage and price.

You might want to give it a try!

I think being able to get a late model Honda, Toyota, or Nissan with less than 75,000 miles for under $8500 is an almost impossible proposition. I still see 2002 Accords listing for $14,000, so you may want to re-adjust your criteria.

Perhaps looking at higher mileage models might help. Hondas, Toyotas, and Nissans tend to be particularly reliable most of the time and buying one with say, 95,000 or 110,000 miles instead of 75,000 may net a decent sized price reduction. Also looking at older models, say ones from 1997-1999, may lower your price range.

I would probably consider looking into a 1999/2000 Honda Accord, with around 120,000 miles, for around that price. A comparable Toyota Camry may be around the same price too. These cars have a legendary reputation for being able to log outrageously high mileage levels without breaking a sweat.

If you want to go smaller, I know that a 1999 or 2000 Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla with around 110,000 miles will definitely be in your price range, if you shop hard. Try looking in the Classifieds section of your local newspaper.

Whatever car you end up purchasing, please make sure you get a CarFax report to make sure it was never involved in anything, get it inspected by a REPUTABLE mechanic, and be vigilant when negotiating.

Good luck.

You shouldn't be looking for a used car over the internet, personally I would never buy a used car without getting it up on a bed first, there's no telling what kind of rust you've got under there. Find a good local mechanic and see if he has some cars he's recently repaired for sale.
