The Three Gorges Dam spans the Yangtze River at Sandouping, Yichang, Hubei province, China. Construction began in 1993. It will be the largest hydroelectric dam in the world, more than five times the size of the Hoover Dam. Although there are economic benefits from flood control and hydroelectric power, there are also concerns about the future of over a million people who will be displaced by the rising waters[2], the loss of many valuable archaeological and cultural sites, as well as the effects on the environment.

Well this is a tricky one. let me answer it like this:
The largest Existing dam is in US called the New Cornelia Tailings, it was made in 1973 and can hold around 209,500 cubic meters of water.
But there are some others which are now comming up with far greater capcity, of these the greates will be in China called Three Geroge which shall hold 39,300,000 cubic meters of water. This projec tshall be completed next year - Hopefully.
So, just imaging what a sudden change in the water holding capcity.
