I think I like Lexapro more, if you feel good, just not as confident, try to use 10 of Lexapro, you can go upto 20 if needed, if all else fails use the medicine that helsp you the most, good luck

Confidence is best built up in therapy. Chemical confidence can be very addictive. Why did you stop taking Zoloft? What is the center of your anxiety. For me it's confrontation. I was on Zoloft for 16 to 24, then Lexapro from 24-30. This year I stopped taking both. Hard to say which worked better, I just figured if I still needed it after all these friggin years then maybe it wasn't working so well. Therapy helped soooooo much. Group therapy. Support network, stuff like that. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about why you'd like to switch. Good luck.

I suffer from major depression and anxiety with anger issues, and I have been taking 40Mg of Lexapro, 30Mg of Remaron, and 100 of Topamax 2 times a day. I was also on 2 Mg of Risperdal for almost 2 years, but I finally got off that one. My memory and concentration is shot to hell, but I don't have the suicidal thoughts like I use to, when I tried to kill myself a little over 2.5 years ago.
Initially, I was in a behavioral hospital for a week, then I was in their day program for about 5 months. After that, I started seeing a private therapist once a week, then it went to once every two weeks and now it's once every three weeks.
My goal is still just to have a normal day, where my mood is even. Once I get that on a regular basis, then I can shoot for something more positive.
I asked my Doctor about about the other drugs, because years ago I was on Paxil and I wanted to know if that would be good to be on again. He told me that Lexapro was the best one for me.

This a question for your doctor. Even if someone on-line is one, they don't know your background, but from another person in your position, yes, I know how you feel ! I just started Lexapro along with Effexor that I've been taking and I think it's much better than Zoloft. Remember, I'm not a professional, but I care, so I answered.

I tried Lexapro, and it was ... alright and I have never taken Zoloft to form a full opinion. I do, however take Citalopram, the Lexapro genetic. Perhaps try that if neither-drug helps.

I have tried all SSRIs except Paroxetine. SSRIs are:
citalopram (Celexa, Cipramil, Emocal, Sepram)
escitalopram oxalate (Lexapro, Cipralex, Esertia)
fluoxetine (Prozac, Fontex, Seromex, Seronil, Sarafem)
fluvoxamine maleate (Luvox, Faverin)
paroxetine (Paxil, Seroxat, Aropax, Deroxat)
sertraline (Zoloft, Lustral, Serlain)
I have also tried Dosulepin and Clomipramine. Now I am taking Bupropion XL 150 mg (Wellbutrin XL or Zyban) for 28 days now.
I think Wellbutrin XL is the best.
XL version of Wellbutrin doesn't cause seizure.
Cardiovascular safety is more compared to SSRI. (though it has dose dependent hypertension)
It doesn't cause sexual side effects.
It doesn't induce mania like SSRIs
Manages the fatigue associated with depression
Increased focus and attention
It doesn't cause weight gain
A wide variety of indications

I prefer the Lexapro, Doctor may have to increase your dose. Mine gives me rispadal also, this really helps the anxiety. People just need to keep their doctor informed, meds take alittle time, it's the only way to see what really works best.

I didn't like Lexapro and I'm finally off it yay! I never tried Zoloft. I am on Effexor which I love and Wellbutron which I also hope to get off of.
If you feel Zoloft is better for you then you should talk to you doctor for sure. Good luck!

I have been on both and did better with the lexapro. Maybe you just need to increase the doseage.
