I'm trying to pick my seats online for my flight (By the way, is it just me or does it seem like no matter how early you get your ticket, 3/4 of the plane is already reserved? Anyway...) It has the rows numbered but it doesn't have the seats lettered and I want an aisle. So does the window start as "A", middle "B", then aisle "C"... or is the other way around? Thanks!

Oh yeah, sorry about that, forgot to mention... it's 3 seats on the left and 3 seats on the right.

A is always the window on the right side of the plane. C and D are aisles on the right side.. Depending on the type of aircraft and how many seats are in the middle will determine the other two aisle seats. For example a 747-400 has 6 seats in the middle. H and I would be the aisle seats on the left side of the plane. The type of aircraft is usually listed on the web site of the airline for your flight number.

A: Window
B: Center
C: Aisle
D: Aisle
E: Center
F: Window
This can change, depending on the type of plane. This is how it is for 2 rows of 3 seats each though.
3/4 of the plane IS blocked off for airport check-in. This helps with families with children to try and keep them together is the main reason for this. It is obviously never guaranteed that is why families are encouraged to show up just a little bit earlier to try and get seats with one another.
I'm sorry, but I have to say this. If you had booked your flights through an agent this is something we do automatically for you 90 days before your departure date after asking which is your seating preference. Also we can be good at answering any questions/concerns you might have.
Either way, I'm not trying to mean this in an insultive way when I say this, but for various forms of travel we can actually be very handy to work with instead of trying to dial an 800 # for the site it was either booked on or the airlines.
Have a great flight though!

There should be a picture of the airplane on your airline's website. I always reserve an isle seat - on the planes I fly, 3 & 3 seating C & D are isle seats - i.e., (a window, b middle, c isle, D isle, e middle, f window.
Window and isle seats are the most popular - you can always call the airline to reserve - also, if you don't get lucky with an isle seat on line or on the phone, be sure to ask the person at the check in point (if you are checking in luggage) of your airline to see if there's one available OR check with the attendant at your gate if one has become available (have done this several times and have gotten lucky) Good luck :)

A is usually the window but the aisle can depend on how many seats across the plane has. Are you sure there isnt a pic of the plane somewhere to make it easier?
