If so, would you have to add more dry ingredients to compensate for the fact that honey is liquid?

Sugar and honey are not equally interchangeable in recipes but it depends on what you are making. If you are making a cake it will change the texture of your cake. If you are making bread, I would cut back on sugar and replace with honey. If you are replacing sugar as a sweetener in a pie filling or smoothie, it would be fine. With baked items such as cakes, cookies, and muffin the sugar plays an important role in texture. If you leave out the sugar you will end up with a poor texture.

1 cup honey = 1to 1 1/4 cups sugar plus 1/4 liquid
1 cup sugar = 1/2 to 1 cup honey (its sweeter)

Definitely, but you have to reduce the liquid in the recipe.

Honey burns too easily from my limited experience with it.

i did that, you have to reduce liquid if you use liquid honey instead of sugar
