if i play to several people with the gift of interpretation, a video( or to make it harder, an audio clip) of someone considered genuinely speaking in tongues, do you think/believe/whatever that they will come up to the same interpretations?

i dont think so.

but everyone always says, "jesus is coming soon, repent now" and all that basic stuff that they have been saying for the past hundreds of years...

Well that is a bit complicated.

1. You first have to confirm the person is speaking in tongues and not just some crazy dude babeling.

2. You have to confirm the people that have the gift of interpretation actually have the gift.

Those things being said . . . the interpreters are more like seers and revelators more than translators. They will hear whatever is being revealed to them. Thus you need to differentiate an interpretor from a translator.

Look up Urim and Thummim in Google and read both the anti-mormon and pro-mormon sites. It should give you a well round idea as to what is a seer and revelator.

P.S. I am impressed you know your gifts properly. Most can't even get that far.

P.S.S. I am an atheist but used to be very religious.

If you read your Bible the speaking in tongues (or different languages) was so that the people of different lands present could hear the good news of the kingdom Acts 2 :1-11 it also reflected the international scope of the preaching work and showed Gods favor had shifted from the Nation of Israel to the new Christian congregation whose Job was to spread the good news world wide Matt 24:14 ,28:19,20 no one spoke incoherent gibberish in fact at 1st Cor 14 :27,28 if there wasnt a translator present they were to keep silent and in 1st Cor 13 :1- 12 speaks of a time when theese thing would be done away with and indeed Jesus is omming again to execute Judgement soon are you ready for him ? This is not a game God plays with.... It is God speaking to people through a language they don't understand. The person who interprets must be moved upon by the Holy Spirit just as the original speaker was moved upon. There are definite guidelines one can check to be sure that the interpretation is Biblical and proper. Satan can also counterfeit the things of God to bring more confusion into the picture. So don't be so quick to judge and don't treat this so lightly. Also remember that an interpretation is not a word for word translation.... it is like a paraphrase. It will give the guist of what was said. But... it must agree with the Word of God. It must lift up Jesus. It must never draw attention to the speaker.

The problem here is like the boy who cried wolf. People have gotten ahead of themselves and made claims that have not come true, and this has caused apathy and ridicule and now disbelief. Kinda like a tornado warning system that keeps sounding prematurely, sooner or later people stop listening to it. However, many of the things Jesus spoke about have come true just like his words at Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 such as the destructin of6 Jerusalem by the Romans. H6e also reminded his followers that nobody knows the day or the hour except for his father.

It is a very good ?
I was with a Church being a christian and this Church would get upset if the people would not speak in tongues also if they did not rise there hands.... So I would answer this that the word of GOD has said : One or two speak in tongues there must be a person their to interpretate it.. if not I FEEL that it is For show and not from the Holy Spirit.. People are very good at drama....

I believe God nonetheless suggests folks matters (prophesy) and I believe there are folks who talk in tongues (languages) whilst underneath the affect of the Holy Spirit. The situation I have along with your mom, from what you let us know, is that she brags approximately those matters. Pride is a sin. And she sounds prideful or potentially she demands concentration, I do not know. If she is studying your diary and looking you in church (whilst she must be targeting worshiping God) then she may be fallacious and manipulative. Speaking in tongues and prophesy/visions have been probably the most items of the Spirit Jesus promised we might have. Unfortunately, those matters were misused by way of folks till they have got a bad connotation for such a lot folks. But there are the ones with natural reasons and hearts almost God who nonetheless have those items!! Thank God for that....((Hugs))

If Satan is able to trick the masses before his arrival with falsehoods like speaking in tongues just think what he will be able to do in person.

This is truly an evil generation. Not too many true Christians in the world today. Those with the Seal of God in their foreheads.

I say, stay in the Word, there is where the truth is.><>

GOD don't Play Games with that Gift.
It takes GOD to do the Tongue's and Interpretation.
If the Holy Spirit isn't in Operation, your just guessing (interpretation).
And if the Interpreter isn't In-Tune with GOD at the Time----he,she is just GUESSING TOO!

Wow--What a great idea!! Are you going to actually do it?? I agree that they will probably not come up with the same interpretation but I would really love to see the results.

Jesus IS coming soon but people keep putting Him off time after time. One day it'll be too late. They ALWAYS need to be reminded so that they will be left without excuse.
