Yes you can. I hate to say this, but deny ever having used it. It is true there are tests that can detect usage way back ( dont think 8 years) but there are not any departments that can affors that type of testing. I will tell you how they generally find things out: they will contact previous friends from long past and ask them questions, if it seems that there is a pattern of people reporting the same thing about you, then you are screwed. Another hint, ALWAYS remember what you have said on previous applications as background investigators will look at every opast application you have filled out and they will be looking for inconsistincies in ALL AREAS!! Also, when you write down references keep in mind that the references you give will be asked to supply 5 more references of people they know that know you so you may never know who that foe is that is reported to know you and what they might say. Last thing, NEVER WAIVER on what you originally told ANY background officer no matter how convincing they are that they know different!!

Yes, you still should be able to. Everyone has done something that they wish they hadn't at some point. I would just be honest about your past and sincere in your resolve to become an officer. Good luck.

Yes, but you generally need to wait 7 years. You also need a near perfect record since your use of the drug. A great, solid work history, great references, no criminal/traffic violations. Military service generally helps a lot. Drug use is among the most daunting obstacles in the process.

It depends on how long ago you tried it. In the state of Florida, for PBSO, it is 6 years previous.
