Hebrews 10:25 says to not forsake the assembling of believers.

I think it is important as a believer to come together to worship, open God's word, pray for each other and encourage each other. Church is also a time to grow together as the body of Christ.

My husband and I are planting a church right now. It's not going to look like what most churches look like. We will have some sort of seating but it isn't going to be pews. The music is probably going to be louder than most church services, it's just going to be really different.

I know some other church planters in our area that are doing home churches. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I say more power to them. I know churches that meet during the week for their service, and I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

God says to not forsake the assembling of believers. He doesn't say where or when. God knows someone's heart in the matter. I really honestly don't think God cares what day or where we come together, but as long as we come together.

We can worship Him every day. Every day is His. The body of believers in Acts met together daily and they met in each other's houses. It didn't matter that they didn't go to a "church" because a "church" is just bricks and mortar. The true church is people who have Jesus in their heart.

No, a church is only a building..the real church is the body of Christ...if you maintain a relationship with other Christians to keep you strong in your faith, it is not necessary.. Many people meet in each other's homes..in fact, a lot o times, people get pulled away from the work of God, by all the social doings at their church.
.
For shut-ins or invalids who aren’t able to go to church, the ministries on radio or TV might be the only kind of fellowship or spiritual nourishment that they get. God certainly understands the circumstances of these people, and recognizes the sincerity of their hearts. However, it is a different matter for those who could attend church but are too lazy, or put other things such as entertainment and amusements before God,

If you can attend and feel you are being fed there, then go...but don't feel bad if circustance keeps you from going.. .

Anything you can do to break down the walls between you and the divine is good to do.

For many of us Christians, interacting with others, singing, taking the Eucharist, and praying in a church does just that: it creates a very thin space between ourselves and God, and increases our faith.

For some, going to church does not do this. Why? Many reasons. I can safely say that, for me, attending church and being part of a church family has made me a better person and a better Christian.

Well, I would have to say it depends on the person and where they are with the Lord..I myself don't attend a church but I feel it was important for me,, so that the religious stuff I have always been taught had to be removed in my life..The Lord wanted me to seek him and not men...I found the Lord through the Holy Spirit and learned from the Holy Spirit,,not from a pastor or a teacher..Although the Lord has been having me to start looking for a church now,,because he knows I can handle the things I couldn't at first..

Hello Mike M,
What does being a Christian have to do with going to church? Nothing.

Mike, When a person accepts Jesus Christ as their Saviour who do you think lead Jesus to that person in the first place? It was Our Father God.

Jesus Christ is God's Word and His Saviour. When we truly accept Him and repent of our sins, we are recreated into a new person. The old has past away and the new lives to be pleasing to God.

God leads us to His Word and through His Word we are taught the Will of God. Through our daily reading and studying of the Word we gain faith. That faith becomes stronger and stronger until God tells us what we need to do for Him. It may be something simple like saying good morning to someone. It might be hard like dieing for the Word of God.

I have been a Christian the better part of my life. I'm 58 years old now and I do not attend any church. I do not want to be part of man's religion. I want to follow in the lighted footsteps of Jesus Christ.><>

Yes.

Christianity is a lifestyle. To be a Christian means to be a follower of Christ. Jesus gave us instructions and lived as an example for us to be a community and to help each other. It is within the church unit that we encourage each other to resist sin and stay with God.

Being a Christian is all about taking care of other Christians. If you don't, then you're not. Just claiming to be a Christian doesn't make you one. You have to act like one, too.

Yes, absolutely. As a Christian, you need the support and fellowship of other Christian brothers and sisters. They will help in the good times and the bad time. They are there to lift you up in prayer. It's difficult to go through life alone and remain faithful to God if you don't go to church and you don't have the fellowship of other christians in your life.

Yes. It's important to have fellowship with other Christians, to worship and praise God, and just get a "spiritual recharge" to get you through the week. And God said "Where ever two or three or gathered, I will be there in the midst of them" But just remember the old saying "Going to church doesn't make you any more a Christian than going to a garage makes you a car" Unless you've asked Jesus to forgive your sins and come into your life, you're not a Christian. God bless!!

Yes, but not because that's what you're SUPPOSED to do, or because that's the RIGHT thing to do. It's more about being in context of His church, and being in fellowship with His people. If you're a christian out of a church, you're kinda just hangin out there in the world by yourself. It's a lot easier to get lost or confused or attacked when you're all by your lonesome.
