If so, then you are "unclean" acording to the bible. I don't understand how Christians can say that the Bible says homosexuality is wrong when it says the same thing about eating pigs. Hypocrite is the name of the game: If you think homosexuals are going to hell for being "unclean" (which I do not believe), then you are going to hell for eating pig and being "unclean".

This question was directed to the people that say homosexuals are going to hell because it says the act is "unclean" in the Bible, yet refuse to take other things like the pig eating argument into consideration. These are what I call pick-and-choosers of the Bible. They decide what they want to read and follow, and if it inconveniences them, then they will not follow it.

Jesus also abolished all men from all sin (according to the Bible) when he died on the cross and was resurrected. If you believe that anyone is going to hell then you are not following the Bible because Jesus cleansed all of us eternally according to the Bible.

On the other hand, if you think that the Old Testament has merit in its laws, then you must accept all the laws and must not pick-and-choose to your convenience (if you want to be called a true Christian).

As, sunestauromai, said, the rising of Jesus abolished those Old Testament laws. It also freed everyone of sin and abolished the devil. If you believe this, then homosexuality is no worse than eating pig.

If you decide to go by the Old Testament and say that the laws were not abolished, then eating pig is just as "bad" as homosexuality...your choice!

SO? The law was ended!!!

Ephesians 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an end to the law with all its commands and rules. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.

Colossians 2:14 He wiped out the written Law with its rules. The Law was against us. It opposed us. He took it away and nailed it to the cross.

Galatians 2:16 ...No one can be made right with God by obeying the law.

Galatians 2:21 ...What if a person could become right with God by obeying the law? Then Christ died for nothing!

Galatians 5:4 Some of you are trying to be made right with God by obeying the law. You have been separated from Christ. You have fallen away from God’s grace... The ONLY verse that talks about falling from grace, and they did it by trying to follow the law!

Jesus said he didn’t come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. (Matt 5:17) The effect was the same. Once fulfilled it was no longer in effect. The very next verse, Matthew 5:18, looks forward to the time when the law would be set aside. "...Not even the smallest stroke of a pen will disappear from the Law UNTIL EVERYTHING IS COMPLETED."

On the cross, Jesus' last recorded saying, "It is finished," is an important milestone. Because of Jesus life, Satan had been defeated. The law was finished and would no longer stand between God and mankind.

The 10 commandments along with the rest of the law ("commands and rules" from Ephesians 2:15) were "set aside" when they were fulfilled or completed at Jesus' resurrection. We are no longer bound by that law.

Pork, along with all other food items, were declared "clean" by Jesus Christ. References for this can be found in Matthew 15:1-20, and Mark 7:1-23.

Furthermore, the first Council at Jerusalem decided the dietary laws given to the Jewish people (along with many other customs) would not be required of Gentile converts to Messiah. See Acts 15.

IN NO PLACE OF SCRIPTURE can you find the lifting of the ban on homosexual practices. This was declared a sin by God in the OT times, and it remains a sin today.

The entire attitude of a sinful heart is the problem anyway, and not just the actions. Actions are symptoms or indicators of a person's condition and relationship with God (or lack therof).

Whenever you interpret the Holy Scriptures of God, please make sure that you are familar with them in their entirity. Pork was forbidden under the Old Testament, becasuse it symbolically represented the uncleanness of the Gentiles, and Yahweh wanted his people to be Holy (the word literally means "Set Apart") unto him. The whole Levitical diet was to be a reminder to Israel of their coming messiah. When Christ died on the crosss, he fufilled all the requirements of the Old Testament, and now Jew and Gentile were offered salvation. Peter had a vision from God of how he was not to consider any food unclean (Acts 10:9-15) and Paul actually rebuked him for being wishy washy about the issue, causing many to stumble (Galatians 2:11-14).

Homosexuality is condemned throughout the Bible, in both the Old and New Testament. There is no place in Scripture where it is justified! In Romans 1:27, Paul, talking about the fallen sinfulness of mankind, tells how men had, "...abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penality of their perversion."

I do not claim to be sinless, nor do I claim not to have serious faults that I need to repent of before my God. I will also even go as far as to say that Homosexuality has been the favorite whipping post for many Evangelical Christians, so as to make they feel more self righteous. But, I also believe the Scriptures to be the absolute truth of God, and it is very clear about both the issue of whether one in the New Testament church decides to eat pork, as well as the practice of Homosexuality. The former is a matter of one's choice, that was forbidden in the Old Testament to remind Israel not to be like their Gentile neighbors. Once Christ died, salvatin was open to all, and the issue of eating pork was a matter of personal choice. The latter is sin throughout the scriptures, and there is no place where it is justified.

I am a Christian and one of the most important things I have learned in my walk is this: when somebody tells me, "The Bible says...," it is my resposibility to ask, "Where does the Bible say that?" Now, I know that the Jews were forbidden to eat pork in the Old Testament, however, Christ said that, " Nothing ouside a man can make him 'unclean,' by going into him." Mark 7:15, NIV. "He went on: ' What comes out of a man is what makes him 'unclean'. For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean.'" Mark 7:20-23. Also, Romans 14:14 says, "As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean." The first capter of Romans addresses homosexuality. You seem to be bitter towards Christians. I am sorry that some of my brethren have apparently offended you. We are supposed to love our fellow man and shine Christ's light in this world. Only God knows who will go to hell. I hope that one day you will read and accept the Bible as God's truth for mankind. God bless you, and thanks for putting me in the word early tonight.

.The writer of Hebrews summed it up in verse 9 of the same chapter (AST): "...He takes away the
first so that He may set up the second; by which will we are separated for the body of
Jesus Anointed once and for all."

Paul gives a perfect explanation in Romans 7:5-6 (AST):

"For when we were in the flesh, the passions of failure worked in our members
through the law for the bearing of fruit unto death. But now we have been set free from
the law, having died to that in which we were held, so that we serve in newness of
mentality, and not in oldness of letter."

Conclusion

So what justifies a man? Is it the food he eats, sitting in the corner and not cooking one day a week, not
wearing a cotton/wool blend suit, or bending the knee to Jesus Christ? There is another important fact I
would like to point out in reference to the adherence to the Mosaic Law that is brought out in Jacob 2:10
(AST): "For he who keeps all the law and stumbles in one, he has become guilty of all."That
means that to do it, it must be done right, and that means do all of it. That means that every time you see a
race-mixer, you must kill him on the spot, even if you had an important appointment and you were running
late. If you are under Mosaic Law and you did not do this, convenient or not, prison or not, you might as
well keep no part of the law because you are guilty of all of it. I have an important question. Where is the
tribe of Levi? You must have a priest. And that brings up another point. Where is the standing temple? The
diaper-heads have an Allie-Babba mosque sitting on the ancient site. The plain truth is that it is impossible at
this day and age to keep the Mosaic Law.
"I do not set aside the favor of God; for if justice is through law, then the Anointed
died without cause"(verse 21).

To put it simply, a person who attempts to keep the Mosaic Law is irresponsible. They deny the finished
work of Jesus Christ. They live a lie and seek to be self-justifiers. They have fallen short of the reputation of
God. They blaspheme the Blood of Jesus the Anointed, the Lamb of God.

First off, a homosexual would not go to hell for having homosexual sex. People go to hell for rejecting God and choosing to live a life apart from his love and his authority.

Rebellious people go to hell, not sinful people. We are all sinful - that's the point of the old testament law - every single person on the planet is sinful.. the difference between mother theresa and hitler... between a homosexual and an uptight evangelical Christian... the differences between any of us in terms of our sinfulness are negligable compared to the difference between any of us and the holy God.

You see God is perfectly holy. When the bible uses the word "unclean" the whole image of bodily cleanliness is a metaphor for spiritual uncleanliness... do you understand?

Jesus said "it is not what goes into a man's mouth that makes him unclean, but what comes out of his mouth, for out of a man's mouth come the thoughts of his heart: lies, hatred, deception, vile thoughts etc. these are what make a man unclean!"

Jesus also said "The kingdom of God is not about eating and drinking, but about love and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit!"

So you see the important thing is not what we eat or who we have sex with, but the most important thing is: do we want God to be a part of our lives? Are we willing to change our life based on what God teaches is the right way to live? Are we willing to admit that we are not perfect, that we are spiritually unclean and we need to be cleansed by God?

The Bible says that you would be unclean according to the law. God clearly redefined this in Acts chapter 10.

Besides that, the bible doesn't say that homosexuals are "unclean" it states that homosexuality is an abomination unto the Lord. It's un-natural. See Leviticus 18:22

Acts 10
12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, "Rise, Peter; kill and eat.
14 But Peter said, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time "What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common"

First of all, it clearly states in the New Testament that nothing one eats can make him/her unclean....and that ONLY that which comes from WITHIN can make you unclean. That is- the sinful thoughts and actions that come from our hearts and minds.

And it doen't take the BIBLE to prove homosexuality is WRONG. It goes against the natural moral law. Homosexual sex cannot result in the propagation of the species- the primary function of sex in all creatures.

The problem is our society is so wrapped up in physical pleasure, most people refuse to realize that this self centered, self serving approach to life is what is making the world such an unhappy place.....and you don't need to be a Christian to see that is plainly evident.

n the new testament Jesus freed us (Gentiles) from the Mosaic law which included the eating of unclean foods. He does not however remove the fact of homosexuality being an abomination.
