There is also the Jesus that doesnt tolerate sin and judges and sends people to burn in hell for all eternity for not being good enough.
Also some of the other New testament books are pretty condeming also. Not much room for love and acceptance in some of those either
Of course God is the same yesterday today and forever and we get to see what God really thinks of us through the old testament and his dealings with the Hebrews and other people that dont do as they are told.
Christianity is not meant to be a religion of peace.
The bible is explicit in the old testament and the new testament about homosexuality. Romans and Corinthians make it clear, homosexuality is an abomination to their Jesus. Being a christian and gay is just plain ridiculous. Maybe there is a God but its not the God of the bible and Jesus has nothing to do with it. Although some words attributed to Jesus are good.

Many Christians will say that they hate the sin and not the sinner, but I have not found this to be the case. After all, if christians don't hate gays, why sponsor an constitutional amendment to have gay marriage banned? That sounds pretty hateful to me. If they don't hate gays, why do they care about something that has no effect on them? You know, if those guys want to go to hell, it is there own business, let them. That's the kind of attitude I'd like to see from christians on the issue.
BTW Serena, you forgot Leviticus 20:13: If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
Now that sounds hateful to me.

"Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable." Leviticus 18:22
HELLOOOO????
that scripture was in the OLD TESTAMENT!
the new testament is alot more liberal about such things.
plus hey- if someone is not a christian- they are not going to hell because they do not believe in it.
God gave us the choice to be whoever we want to be. If he created us and he loves us- if we do our best and get out of this shitty world without killing ourselves in the process, we will get into Heaven or whatever the hell you call it.
I'm Wiccan- i could care less what Christians say about me and my Gay little life.
just know this: not all christians hate gays- just the really radical ones that take every bible scripture and blow it out of proportion and have to thank god for life before they can take a damn Piss.

so the radical ones are just damn ******* hiding behind their damn bible. iot's just those few out of the many that are christians that stand out like a green thumb.

I just follow this throughout my life- it goes for physical, emotional, and verbal actions:

"An It Harm None; Do What Thou Wilt."

ekk... put simply- hating people is just stupid- there's no point because this day and age no one really gives a **** what anyone else thinks...
oh well- sorry for the rant.

see ya

Do you have any intention preach on: Romans 1:26 "God gave the people over to a shameful lust, even the women exchange natural relations for unnatural ones. The same with men who also abandoned natural relations with women, they were inflamed with lust and committed indecent act with other men and receive in themselves the due penalty for their perversion." Leviticus 20:13 "If a man lies with another man as he lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death, their blood will be on their own heads." Gen. 19:3 "Men from every part of the city of Sodom, both young and old surrounded the house of Lot and was calling to him to bring out his male guests so that they can have sex with them, then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah and destroyed those cities."

I'm a Christian, and I don't hate gays. I don't agree with what they do, but I don't hate any of them. You can dislike someone's actions without hating them. Jesus taught to love everyone. However, homosexuality is a sin. I'm sorry, but you can't be a Christian and be gay. You need to study the Holy Bible and see what it says about homosexuality (think about Sodom and Gommorah)

Why do you assume that people hate gays?
I believe the Bible is the truth. And the Bible says that men that lie with men as with a woman are obscene.
So it is not religous people who you need to take up your argument
with, it is whoever inspired the Bible writers to write this.
I really do not hate anyone who is gay, but I do know that the choice of lifestyle is in no way or shape able to be harmonized with the simple standards God spells out in the Bible.
So to say "I'm a gay Christian", might as well just say, " I am a liar".

Oh, and by the way, the love Jesus has, is for those that are listening to him, and doing the will of his father. As his father spelled out clearly as regards the obscenity of men having sex with men. anyone doing such acts would be nothing if they were not at least severely misguided.

I for one am a Christian. I don't hate the gay person, but I don't like their lifestyle because I believe that it is a sin. As God said we are to love the sinner, but hate the sin.

I'm a religious person and I don't hate gays or anyone else.

If you are a queer you are NOT a Christian.
Hate not the person, hate the sin.

Romans 1:27
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the women, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their ERROR which was meet.

I know you are going to mention Judging so here it is.
John 7:24
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT.

Though the message may have been a great one, I believe that the true meaning of the message was lost in translation and editing of it through out the years. Plus, we must remember that the 'authors' of that message didn't even live in his lifetime. Yes the message we get today is a sick and twisted insult to what he tried to teach the world. I hope you find much love and acceptance among your fellow Christians. It is the kind of tolerance that the rest of us Non-christians would love to see out of them!
Blessed Be....the other kind.
