Whenever a Christian feels passionate about something and tries to share their opinion that we get slammed and told that we are hateful, intolerant people who are just reading a false bible anyhow. WHY, WHY, WHY? Why can we not stand up for the God that we love SO much and not be told that we are being hateful. Why is it SO bad to disagree with somebody and tell them that they are wrong and we get blaimed because we are only going by the bible. "Only going by the bible" that's what my entire life is founded on. I haven't dedicated my whole life to a faulty book, why is it that so many people don't believe and how to we help them to believe in love so they don't think we are hateful? Sorry I'm open to suggestions here, Christian and non-Christian viewpoints will be gladly taken in. I'm so frustrated right now...

Wasn't Jesus crucified for the said cause? Didn't He said that the servant is not greater than the Master - and that we are going to be persecuted for His name sake? So who cares what others might think or say; whatever you do, do it in love, by following the principles of Christ. Love, be bless.

Because many Christians: A. pick-and-choose what they want to believe that the Bible says, therefore the argument has no merit B. say their comments in a hateful way C. Do not even know what part of the Bible they are talking about or what their religion really is about D. (and this is tied to the beginning of "C.") Follow what some priest or minister tells them without actually looking to find where their own religion says things (their like lemmings)

Now I am not saying that this is all Christians, just the majority that I have seen on this website. I think if you want to make an argument from the Bible or any other religious material, then go ahead. But, know that you will be expected to actually know what you are talking about and that you will not be the only person in the argument. You can't whine because some one else is arguing with you about your religious beliefs because it is the same as people arguing with other people about facts, polls, etc.

Christians do stick up for what they believe in and the beliefs are many, vastly different and sometimes ugly and violent looking to some people.

What Christians don't stick up for are the ways of Jesus.

Jesus said Judge least ye be judged.

Throw the first stone only if you are without sin.

Love your enemy the most.

Love your neighbor like you love yourself.

Some Christians must not love themselves very much.

Some Christians are opposed to abortions and kill doctors who perform them and blow up abortion clinics.

Some Christians demonstrate at the funerals of little Amish girls over Homosexuality, which has nothing to do with those little girls.

Some Christians hang blacks from trees and call them animals.

Some Christians made blacks sit up in the balconey because Like should be with Like

Some Christians burned women because they were thought to be witches

Some Christians blow up a Federal Building that had NO agents from the Waco Texas fisasco and ended up only killing little children in a nursery

Some Christians killed Jews because they wouldn't covert to Christianity.

Some Christians killed Jews and Muslims because they were asked to do so by a church leader

What does all of this say about God, Jesus and Christians!

It says they stuck up for what they believed in.

I guess that point of this is, do you think Jesus, who stopped people from stoning fornicator Mary Magdeline, believes this way too!?

Is that what the Savior is about, all these things Christians so passionately believed in!

Free will

You decide.

Well, here's my problem with it. I don't like being told I'm wrong and going to hell any more than you like being told you are hateful. I personally have never told a christian they are hateful, but I have lost track of the number of times someone christian has told me with manic glee that I am going to suffer for all eternity because I refuse to believe their mythology.
The main reason people don't like christians, I think, is that they try to force their lifestyle on everyone else. And before you say that's not true, why else do mainstream christians oppose gay marriage? Why do they try to force prayer into schools (only for them, mind you, not other religions)? Why do they get on tv and tell people how horrible they are for not believing or even for just not following their specific doctrine? Why do they use their own children for political ends (operation rescue is just one christian organization that involves children as young as 5 years old in political machinations--I know, I've seen it personally)?
They do these things because they think it is right, and therefore everyone else should have to also. If christians would worship and keep their opinions to themselves, they would be a lot less disliked. Instead, a few people try to force everyone to do things their way, like it or not, because they think it's right and god told them to. Well, I don't like someone else trying to dictate to me what is right and what is wrong. I am an adult, and a pretty good person; I am capable of making my own decisions. I don't need christians to do it for me.

Sorry you are frustrated, but you are basing your life on a faulty book.

Exodus 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name

Jeremiah 2:30 In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

Exodus 11:5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.
11:6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
11:7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel

I don't know if you fit into this category Christians, but if you live by a set of beliefs that state that outsiders will feel divine retirbution, it doesn't really matter what you say. Even if you feel like you're being incredibly welcoming to them and generous by showing them God, the system that you represent is still condemning them for their essence.

Also, we don't see your "love" as actual love because it doesn't respect us. It's full of superiority and condescension. Many atheists do believe in love, but to us love is not forcing someone into our path of life.

And really, if you're going to get so frustrated by this stuff, just back down. You're not meant for this role. People on every side get it. Just of a fact of controversial discourse. Have you seen what atheists have been called?

i think of this is abit unfair so you might declare that one and all christians are like this. they do no longer seem to be. What you do could comprehend is that we (christians) are basically widely used people; all born in sin. once you grow to be a christian it doesnt recommend which you at the instant are a hundred% suitable, basically Jesus replaced into suitable. once you openly say which you're a christian it does recommend that persons will seem at you greater heavily and watch what you're doing, virtually to discover some form of fault basically so as that they could say no to that faith. it is why christians could try to tutor people who it is common to make blunders, yet that they are no longer doing it purposely and that they desire to advance and apologise to God for messing up. in spite of the undeniable fact that there are some people who declare to be christians yet they are no longer somewhat, in any different case they're yet they have long gone removed from God and start to do what they choose and this can supply christians a bad call. yet God is familiar with who's and who isnt truthful, so in the tip they would be found out. i wish this helped you abit:)

Wow, I know what you mean! I think it is a combination of subtle, ( and not so subtle), anti- Christian media influence on the minds and hearts of people, in conjunction with the natural rejection reaction that is sort of inborn in to all of us , ( We are born into sin).
Remember , that they do not want to hear the truth because it is a light that uncovers the real decrepped souls(As We ALL have without the Light of God's word)that washes away sins. They do not want to accept that they are going to perish if they do not sincerely fall before God and beg his forgiveness!

There are millions of other people in the world who are just as sure as you that their book is right. And you want to tell them they're wrong, you don't see any hypocrisy in that?
