Bit Defender. I am a system administrator and I would recommend Norton Corporate to anyone for business but the Norton personal suite is a night mare unless all you want to do is sit around tweaking the setting all day. Bit Defender cost less and will accomplish the same task as Norton. Bit Defender will also use far less resources. I would recommend the Bit Defender v10 Plus Suite. It has a Firewall, Anti-spam, Anti-virus and Anti-spy ware. You can also get a free trial from their web site and if all you need is basic virus protection it also comes in a free version. So anyway you have nothing to lose by giving it a try.

Trend Security Suite 2007 (PC-Cillin) has just come out, and they have an interesting new home license.

The user can install the software on up to 3 pcs resident in the same home (including laptops).

If you've got to protect multiple computers with a complete (AV, firewall, spyware, identity theft, credit card nbr protection, etc) security blanket, Trend might be able to keep your costs pretty low.

It costs about the same as Norton, but of course, the per PC price is one third of the total cost.

I like Trend, it doesn't slow my computers down, doesn't eat up resources, or get in the way of enjoying my computer. But it is also a "soup to nuts" complete and comprehensive security package with everything controlled by the same easy user interface.

Difference of opinion but CA(computer associates) works well - and incorporates the zone-alarm firewall into the security suite they offer - (BTW, Trendmicro does a great job too) - the main question is what version of norton are you using, as Symantec has a way of messing up your system once it's unistalled so that you may encounters errors once you replace it (espicially 'internet protection suite!') - anything but Norton or McAfee is far better

I hear McAffee is good although I've not used, before used Norton but now have ZONE ALARM-anti Virus and Anti-spy ware and so far never infected with virus and all spyware gotten rid off---anything coming into my computer-E-mails,programs,updates,downloads gets checked first automatically by ZoneLab-it also warns me if a program, download etc has the potential to harm computer and then gives me option if I want to or not-a good program and its Free but has programs more advanced and for Business that cost.It is anti-virus,anti-spyware,anti-spam,Id protection,E-mail protect, Firewall and more Go to www.zonelabs.com
