it's not a stupid move at all, being ambitious is the best thing, I say go for it, go back to school and have fun.
why don't you think about becoming a PA "physician assistant" in my personal opinion it's better than RN, they have better work inviorment and even better salaries.
take a look at this http://swz.salary.com/salarywizard/layouthtmls/swzl_compresult_national_HC07000001.html
The median expected salary for a typical Staff Nurse - RN in the United States is $58,777

while this http://swz.salary.com/salarywizard/layouthtmls/swzl_compresult_national_HC07000009.html

The median expected salary for a typical Physician Assistant in the United States is $77,395

but if RN is what you really wanna do then go for it. Salary is not that important.

If you feel you want to be an RN, I don't see any stupidity in such move. Just be sure that you really want to be in such profession. Being a nurse isn't that bad. It is a pretty good and a noble profession. The other degree you have will remain to be there and you could assimilate it very well later with the nursing profession. I have known many professionals going back to school in pursue of nursing profession-a doctor, college professor, accountant, medical technologists, etc. My registered BS MT sister is one amongst them.

As long as you feel for it, keep going!

It is a very good move, as a nurse a proficiency with computers will help as places get more up to date technology, and there are some areas where it really is a part of the job. Also there are always jobs and opportunities in nursing and they are everywhere.

I guess it all depends on how badly you need to work right away, or whether it's vitally important to you to work in the medical field right away. If you really desire to work as a nurse or other health professional, could you work in computers while going to school for health-care?

It all depends on what your goals and priorities are. If you value financial security above all else, then working for a while longer to save up more money may be necessary. On the other hand, if you really desire a change or just feel a calling to work in the health field, then get out there and pursure your dreams! Go for it!

Getting more education is never a stupid move! If you can figure out how to afford it, more school will only add to who you are. Sometimes more education adds value to your career, and sometimes it simply adds value to you. Unless the cost is too exhorbitant, the rewards are great.
