I am getting married in June. I have been on a wedding diet and have lost some weight already and I am not sure what size of dress I should get. The size I wear now or the size I want to be on my wedding day? I'm not planning on losing a lot of weight. Just a few dress sizes.

Always. always, always get the size you are now. They can take a dress in easily but it is one heck of a job to make a dress larger!

You need to order the size you are right now.

It is extremely difficult, sometimes impossible, to make a wedding gown bigger. If your diet should be unsuccessful, or if you don't lose as much as you want, there would be nothing you can do to alter a dress that is too small because you ordered it based on what size you thought you would be.

Wedding dresses always have to be altered so that they fit you like a glove. It is the same cost to take it in 12 inches as it is to take it in 1/4 of an inch. You would be much better off ordering based on the size you are now and possibly have to take it in a lot for alterations.

Also, the dress size you are usually does not correspond with what your wedding dress size is. And the size chart for one designer is not the same as a dress size of another. Be sure to be measured by a professional, and order the dress based on how those measurements compare to the size chart of the designer you have chosen.

That all depends. Why not wait until the last minute to get the dress and then get it the size you are at that time. If you do loose any more weight you can have it taken in to fit.

Personally I would not get it any smaller than a dress size less than I am wearing right now. It takes more than a pound or two to go down a full dress size and loosing weight is not as easy as you might think It will always be better to have the dress taken in if you do loose weight than to have a dress that is too small for you to wear on you big day. Its not like you can just wear something else or run to the mall for a fast replacement. Better safe than sorry

Buy your dress for the size you are now. Brides always intend to lose weight but are too busy planning the grand event to do so. The stress is enormous. Have it altered 6 weeks before your wedding for the size that you are at that time. Why 6 weeks? Those bridal shops sometimes run behind and have ruined a few weddings. You don't want to go straight from the tailor to the wedding. Give yourself plenty of wiggle room (pun intended).

Get the size you are now. You can have it altered later and it is much easier to take in a dress then it is to let one out.

I also dieted and lost weight before my wedding. I'm glad I ordered my dress in my original size because even though I lost 20lbs, I was still the same size in my chest. They had to take the waist in three sizes, but it still looked perfect. Just make sure you have a good seamstress.

You usually get the size that you are now. If between now and your wedding day you lose a few more dress sizes, you can have the dress altered. Remember, it is always easier to have your dress taken in but harder to have it let out.

Get the size you are now. Don't put the pressure to lose a dress size. It's just not healthy.

It is easier for a seamstress to go down sizes than to make a dress grow in size. Do the size that you are now!!
