because baptism with spirit and with fire was being done in india and other eastern countries thousands of years before jesus learned how to do it from indian sages . the west still doesn't understand spirituality because those jesus taught were killed and then emperor constantine edited out much of jesus's teachings from the present bible.

Eastern people are analytical too. But they pay more attention to within themselves. They observe more about spirituality. Most religions (or all?) come from the east: India, China, etc. and the middle-east.

Western people pay more attention to the world outside themselves, thinking about how to go to the moon, how to find new lands, etc.

Thus, ORIGINALLY, eastern people think about the inner world of human being, and the western people think more about the materials outside the human beings. They then become more materialistic.

But nowadays, eastern people learn to be more materialistic from the west. Even religions (esp. some Christianity) are based on materialism greatly. On the other hands, the west begin to learn about eastern strategy such as Sun Tzu and Tai Chi.

That's what I simple think. Do you agree to some extent?

Whoaaa, that's such a long story! You can do a PhD research on it. Start with a guy called Rene Descartes.
Now, seriously speaking, these books might be helpful to you:

Author Toulmin, Stephen Edelston
Title Cosmopolis : the hidden agenda of modernity / Stephen Toulmin
Published New York : Free Press, c1990

Author Culianu, Ioan P
Unif title Eros et magie à la Renaissance, 1484. English
Title Eros and magic in the Renaissance / Ioan P. Couliano ; translated by Margaret Cook ; with a foreword by Mircea Eliade
Publish info Chicago : University of Chicago Press, 1987

Author Giannaras, Chr¯estos, 1935-
Title On the absence and unknowability of God : Heidegger and the Areopagite / Christos Yannaras ; edited and with an introduction by Andrew Louth ; translated by Haralambos Ventis
Publish info London ; New York : T & T Clark International, c2005
Edition [2nd ed.]

The last one more specifically contrasts the Western worldview with the Orthodox Christian one, that's definitely both Eastern and spiritual. But the section of the book on Western secularization owes much to Heidegger and Nietzsche, so it's not religion-specific.

This is probably interesting and relevant to the question too, but I haven't read it yet:

Author Randall, John Herman, 1899-
Title The making of the modern mind : a survey of the intellectual background of the present age / John Herman Randall, Jr. ; with a foreword by Jacques Barzun
Published New York : Columbia University Press, 1976, c1940

Have all of the aforesaid never heard of the Arabians nights and all the riches of the east. Where do you think a certain Bin Laden gets his funds from to carry out his campaigns of hatred. From pots of gold stashed beneath the desert sands.

And the western world have taken all their wealth for materialistic gains from beneath the seas..black gold.

Not to be taken literally but just showing that both cultures are the same but at the same time different.

Like the man said we are all human with spiritual minds and materialistic needs.

Yeah, id say you do not understand the distinction between east and west, or you would be asking a more meaningful question. Both are spiritual, and both are materialistic, because both are human.

It is a difference in how we approach the world, best revealed in our sciences and in our faiths.

Westerners are more analytical (from analyze, to cut apart) in their thoughts, more prone to dissections, wanting physical proof for almost everything! There is practically NO ROOM for mysteries and/or unanswered questions here!

Easterners are content to realize that there are some things beyond their grasp, some things they can't control. God is entitled to His secrets, after all! Mysteries exist, especially spiritual ones, that we DO NOT have to hunt down and pin to the table. We cannot hope to understand everything in life, so we shouldn't try to understand absolutely everything! Relax a little...
