It depends on how young they look. People over forty who look over forty and who have braces look bizarre

I think he (and others who wait to get braces) probably 1)parents couldn't afford them when they were younger and 2)didn't realize they wanted them untill they were older but then THEY didn't have the money for them and then 3)once they had some money, they were about 30 and then felt too self-conscious and didn't want to go through the crap and then 4)probably struggled with the idea for a decade and decided to face thier dilema and do what was best for thier dental health in spite of society's preconception that one should be 12 to get braces. I applaud your boss for giving it a shot..........he is doing what he's probably wanted to do for a very long time........and while we may all go through a similar process at one time or another (maybe not getting braces, but something else),he is doing it and the whole world can see. give him a break and a little respect. when he's out of them, he'll look great ;) good for him. in the meantime, you better reach all of your goals in a socially acceptable timeframe or you too will look like an idiot of course.

Tell your boss to check into" Invisaline braces". (They are clear and almost invisible.)
It is a vanity thing, and he is making his orthodontist a rich guy! Actually, some people need them even at 40 years old. A bad bite can cause TMJ problems. This can cause terrible head aches. Lay off the boss. Just smile at him and be happy for him. After they come off, tell him much nicer he looks.

They're doing something good for themselves that they've earned.
Should we put an age limit on braces because some retarded girl has nothing better to do than make fun of other people? Keep your forked tongue behind your teeth and find something better to do in your free time.

Perhaps he needed them as a child but for some reason could not get them then. If he want to correct his teeth what is wrong with that. It is probably no more funny that someone wearing a cast or a bandage.

I think it is great! Plus, I think older people with braces look pretty cool ... braces are not just for the younger generation and it's great to see adults, who may not have had the $$$ when they were young, to fix their teeth! They obviously love their smile!

I had them in my 30"s. I was 1 of 3 adults on my street to have them. My middle sister is 42 and just got them. I say go for it. My parents could not afford our braces as children. Who says there's an age limit. My orthodonist now advertises" for children and adults". You are the foolish one for putting someone down who's wanting to improve themselves.

Why not! Now that he has the money to make himself look better he should. Besides there maybe a medical reason he is doing it. He may have bad alignment of his teeth. This is a way to correct it.

Never to late to look your best, however, at 40 plus, they do have the invisible kind.
