Why is it that when asked about homosexuality or abortions those crazy christians started qouting the Old Testament right and left, but ask them if they think they should stone disobedient children or unfaithful wives (also in the O.T.) and they starting spewing about Christ taking away the need for those archaic laws?

I am not a christian...pro life though...and what homosexuals do is their business. I have no problem with it. Christians have been "programmed or brainwashed" to have the "answer" for each thing...If you talk to a hundred of them about a particular subject...it will begin to sound like a broken record.

It's perfectly simple, why complicate it?
Homosexuality, or "sodomy" as it is called in the Bible, continues to be condemned in the New Testament (Rom 1:27).
Abortion is human sacrifice, which is an act of satanism.
Concerning not stoning a disobedient child or an unfaithful wife, we simply refer to the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32 and the woman caught in the act of adultery in John 8:1-11.
The intention is to follow a New Testament model.

You asked a pointed question, here comes an honest answer.
The New Testament is no MORE true than the Old Testament.
The Old Testament never ceased to be true, but the fulfillment of the laws writtin therein has changed. While homosexuality and murder are still evil, and the wages of sin are still death, Jesus gave us all a repreive from punishment untill judgement. That doesn't mean there will be no judgement. In fact, eternal judgement will be far more severe than any stoning you could face.
And at judgement, right and wrong will become repolarized to the pure black and white they were always meant to be. Any shade of gray you see now is an illusion. There are no "yeah, buts" with God.

They aren't crazy, they are confused and use whatever works best. After all although the old testament (the law) was replaced by Jesus (new testament) they were included in the same book. Therefore they think that the whole thing still applies. When actually the reason that both testaments are in the bible is because it was the Jews and the Catholics that got together in the 1500's and decided what books would be included and what books would NOT be included. You see they didn't put everything in the bible, they didn't put in what they didn't want.

The old testament is the jews and the new testament are christian.
The Jews read only the Old Testament but christians read the Old and New but we mostly follow the new.
See the O.T. is how the world was created and the stories of phophets and the phophesies of Jesus christ.
In the law of moses(which is in the old testament) it saws that you can stone someone if they sin but Jews forget that you can only do that if you yourself have never sinned.
When Jesus came who is the son of God he corrected these things that you cant do like you can murder and stone and curse someone which was allowed in the old testament.
See Jews only read and follow the old testament because they dont believe the jesus was the true messiah
but christians read the old and the new but only follow the new testament laws

How about the fact that there are Bible verses AGAINST homosexuality, in the New Testament? Romans 1:26 & 27
For this cause God gave them
up unto vileaffections: for even
their women did change the natu-
ral use into that which is against
nature:
And likewise also the men,
leaving the natural use of the
woman, burned in their lust one
toward another; men with men
working that which is unseemly,
and receiving in themselves that
recompence of their error which
was meet.

Whew!!! I wish you wouldn't throw Christian around so narrowly. I am christain, lesbian. My pastor is a gay man. I belong to a demonation known as Metropolitan Community Churches and we are worldwide. I also work closley with Methodists amd Episocopalians churches that are wlecoming and accepting of the LGBT community and support pro life issues.
Instead of saying Christian why don't you say Fundamentalist or Radical Right. That's who you are really referirng to. And by allowing them to be the only Christians in your mind...they win. We can't allow that now can we.

This is an aspect not of Christianity but of fundamentalism in general. People who are attached to a single belief system so strongly that they cannot question it, or allow it to change when presented with compelling new evidence, will often exhibit what others might term irrational behavior.
I suggest taking a new outlook on Christianity. Don't automatically think badly of someone because they are a Christian, the same that you wouldn't want them automatically to think badly of you for being a non-Christian. You don't need to think their viewpoint is right, or even moral, to understand where they're coming from. Understanding them is the key to knowing how to get along with them and work together to reduce religious hatred and conflict.

Bashing atheists hasn't caught on yet. i do no longer customary Youtube, yet i could be surprised if there wasn't passable video data of atheists doing stupid issues there. it truly is in basic terms that no one makes a ingredient of telling you their ideals, they only try this for the sake of bashing Christians. it truly is stated as a double usual. Get used to it, Christians have had to.

They do not change with thetimes and do not like to come to light and would prefer to remain in darkness and kill the person who brings light to them. That is how they condemned ?coper nicus and killed Galileo.
they think that jesus christ was ignorant and they therefore donot want to be more intelligent than Jesus Christ . The religion itself practices homo-sexuality and the presiests are avidly teachig and demonstrating in the house of god itself to young children in hundreds . That is part of the ritual of the church and it looks that one who masters it becomes an expert in it alone come to the top positon. A practical religon thatt deserves to be spread all over the world like AIDS.
