Okay I am confused. I am 28 weeks and 1 day pregnant today i thought that would make me 7 months pregnant but i'm wrong does anybody know how to work out the months according to how many weeks pregnant you are?? if you could give me the whole 40 weeks and put them to months that would be great because i'm lost lol...i'm not sure if i'm making total sense so i'll give an example 1-4 weeks equals a month (right) 8 weeks equals two months and so and so...thanks alot i'd really appreciate it i always assumed 4 weeks of being pregnant would equal to one months but that equals 10 months and pregnancy only last for nine so yea that definately not right!!! thanks :)

The reason the weeks and the months don't add up is that only February actually has 28 days (or 4 weeks) all the rest have 30-31. So 2 months will be 9 weeks not 8.
4weeks = 1month
9weeks = 2 months
13weeks = 3 months
18 weeks = 4months
22weeks = 5months
27weeks = 6 months
31 weeks = 7months
36 weeks = 8 months
40 weeks = 9 months
I hope that helps with a rough way to work it out - all the professionals in OB/GYN talk exclusively in weeks rather than months.
Best wishes with the rest of your pregnancy.

Every month (except Feb.) has 30 or 31 days which is just slightly longer than 4 weeks. The easiest way to think about it is that every 3rd month has 5 weeks instead of 4. So 13 weeks would be 3 months, not 12. So I guess if you look at it like that, you could say that: weeks 1-4 are month 1, weeks 5-8 are month 2, weeks 9-13 would be month 3, weeks 14-17 are month 4, weeks 18-21 are month 5, weeks 22-26 are month 6, weeks 27-30 are month 7, weeks 31-34 are month 8,weeks 35-39 are month 9. Hope this helps.

BabyRN gave you a great answer. The other thing to remember is that weeks are 7 days long, moon cycles 28 or 4 weeks (February being the only true month all the rest were just made up to fill in), seasons or quarters are 13 weeks, years are 4 quarters or 52 weeks. Julius did us a lot of good when he established his calendar.

a typical gestation is 38 to 40 two weeks. you will desire to end the 9th month! no one informed me this! so which you do certainly enter the 10th month. So at 28 weeks you're in basic terms getting into the seventh month which makes you 6 months pregnant. Congratulations!

month one = week 1-4
month 2 = week 5-8
month 3 = week 9-13
month 4 = week 14-17
month 5 = week 18-21
month 6 = week 22-26
month 7 = week 27-30
month 8 = week 31-35
month 9 = week 36-40

the confusion comes from the fact that you have a baby when you are nine months pregnant ... but thats the end of your ninth month not the beginning

The easiest way to understand it is to drop the 1st 4 weeks. most people don't know they are pregnant during this time frame. so if you are 8 weeks pregnant you are 1month along according to those who don't understand the whole 40 weeks thing. Just tell people how many weeks you are until the end and problem solved.

Well...seen as there are four and 1/4 weeks in a month...you would be 6 and a half months or something...

And it doesn't really matter how many months you are..everyone like doctors usually just go by weeks..so tell people how many weeks you are and if they're smart they can figure it out no their own!

I just answered this question so I'm going to cut and paste it for you:

This has confused pregnant women for eons.

The day you miss your period you are, gestationally, two weeks pregnant, however, they go by the date of your last menstrual period (LMP) which makes you four weeks pregnant. Therefore, the day you miss your period you are already a month pregnant. So for the sake of clarity, let's say your last menstrual period started January 1st of this year:

Month 1: Jan 1 - Jan 29th
Month 2: Jan 30th - Feb 26th
Month 3: Feb 27th - March 26th

and so on. So with a 14 day cycle you got pregnant on January 14th, however, on February 27th you have only been physically pregnant for a little over six weeks, however you are already starting your third month. Clear as mud, huh? My rule is let the pregnant woman claim to be as pregnant as she wants to be :)

Pregnancy is actually closer to 10 months, so while you think you're not right on your calucutations...you are. Sorry...sucks huh?!?!

At first I thought your question was dumb, but after reading the answers I don't blame you for being confused - I would be too.
