Every once in awhile I notice that I have a thumbs down on a perfectly reasonable answer, nothing contraversial or even questionable like "What color are your eyes" the answer-"Blue"... and then BAM! a thumbs down. Do people just go around and give thumbs down for no reason...just for fun.

I know it doesn't mean anything...I'm just curious and bored!

I admit I have accidentally hit thumbs down before when meaning to hit thumbs up...

I also think it's funny when people feel like I have wasted their time by asking my question but then they waste more time by answering it instead of just clicking the back button.

And people who get annoyed with the What should I do retard...come on poeple you know its' him stop clicking on the questions....

wow, i need to go to bed before this rant gets too long!

I don't care if i get a thumbs down..that just means someone did not like what i had to say..oh well ..too bad for them.. You should always speak your mind and still be respectful though.. some people probably go around giving thumbs down for the heck of it..you never know.....

People gives out thumb down because of my answer which they disagree on. What make them disagree? Well, maybe because i have touched on senstive issues or they just didn't like some of advice given.

Well, we can't always win in this world, right? We are bound to get thumb ups and thumb downs anytime..

Thumbs down usually come from answers that are illogical, based on poor foundations, rude, and glib. Many people spout nonsense. A person asked if machine guns could be owned in America...most people replied 'No' ...they didn't know but felt duty bound to put in their two cents, but the law is that individuals can own machine guns (special licenses)...see...if you know, then you know, but to just respond without any depth is pointless and so you get thumbs down. I am a physician and when I respond, I do so in depth or I simply don't bother to answer ridiculous questions.

I have seen that many times. I think that there are people who just will give a thumbs down just because it was not their answer. Never mind that it was a reasonable answer! They just think - Not mine! Thumbs-down!

what can you say? some people just don't play well with others.

Reason why: I always give thumbs down to questions that seem like the person is just bored.

Nope some trolls seem to discover it humorous, I have not any theory how nonetheless. I very not often thumb absolutely everyone down on condition that their answer is thoroughly stressful and irrelevant like some thing they only randomly placed up on each and every question :)

Who knows, Why people do what they do! Just move on and keep on answering and you will get a lot more than thumbs down. Points and best answers! Have a good one

I think that people do that because they think they will influence the asker to give them the points for best answer based on thumbs up or thumbs down.

I once gave an answer on some trivial subject and had one thumbs down and the only other answerer gave basically the same reworded answer.
So who do you think gave me the Thumb of death?...

Some people probably get confused as to what up and down means. I mean,
you gotta give people the benefit of the doubt. It's a good thing there's not a
thumb's up , thumb's down, and the ol' one finger salute!!

I receive a thumbs-down on many of my answers relating to my religion--all because they disagree with Mormonism. I can't recall getting a thumbs-down on a reply to a music question.

Added note: See? There you go . . .
