Histamine is a chemical responsible for numerous symptoms of allergic reaction. The amount present in the blood or urine can help confirm or rule out the presence of an allergy.

Please note that it is extremely important to obtain an accurate diagnosis before trying to find a cure. Many diseases and conditions share common symptoms: if you treat yourself for the wrong illness or a specific symptom of a complex disease, you may delay legitimate treatment of a serious underlying problem. In other words, the greatest danger in self-treatment may be self-diagnosis. If you do not know what you really have, you can not treat it!

Knowing how difficult it is to weed out misinformation and piece together countless facts in order to see the "big picture", we now provide simple online access to The Analyst™. Used by doctors and patients alike, The Analyst™ is a computerized diagnostic tool that sits on a vast accumulation of knowledge and research. By combining thousands of connections between signs, symptoms, risk factors, conditions and treatments, The Analyst™ will help to build an accurate picture of your current health status, the risks you are running and courses of action (including appropriate lab testing) that should be considered. Full information is available here.

For three days prior to the test, avoid ingesting foods that increase histamine levels (particularly cheeses and sauerkraut). A blood sample or urine sample will be taken and then analysed.

Histamine levels that are slightly elevated suggest that symptoms may be due to an allergic reaction, although the specific allergens can not be identified through this test. Extremely high levels may indicate mastocytosis, or possibly cancer. Note that false-positive and false-negative results are possible.

Depending on the results, further testing may be recommended. Possibilities are: skin tests, RAST, or challenge tests; biopsy and/or CT scan.

I would see a couple of specialist, such as the GI doctor for intestinal system, a Uriologist and these doctors deal with the kidneys and the bladder, and an orthopedist as well to make sure. That shocks me that doctors haven't sent you to specialist. Specialist would know a lot more about what's going on in the specific areas. Get the thyriod tested to make sure everything is intact.

i'm not a doctor
but histamines are related to salt/sodium
do some research in that area
take a pinch of salt -put it under your tongue-let it dissolve
if you feel a bit better-get on the net and research it-good luck
