penguins of course only live in the antarctic but a purloined egg, transported quickly to the other end of the poles would be consumed gratefully by many hungry northern spieces including me if feeling,,,,, 'more than peckish'.

The penguin is a sacred bird, to native Eskimo's. It would be committing a sacrilege to eat one of the eggs. In their belief, the penguin is a god.
