OK, back up a bit. Becoming a lawyer requires a bachelor's degree first, then three years of law school. In pre-law undergraduate school, any major is good, really, although it is important to take some sort of course in logic, probably some really solid English composition, and certainly broad education in history, social science, etc. Basically, lawyers need a diversified background, because they will take all different sorts of cases, and need to know a little of everything.

The SAT refers to the test to get into undergraduate school. It should just be a review of what you learned in high school. However, when you apply to law school, you will need to take the LSAT, and for that, you need logic. You also need good language skills and reasoning more generally, and something of basic education. As I said, a lawyer needs a broad background. There are practice books available for the LSAT, as there are for the SAT, but in the case of the LSAT, I would say the practice book is essential, not merely optional.

Once you get into law school, the first year is usually all required courses, and maybe in the second year you will get one elective, maybe two in the third year. But the importance of the bar exam means that all the subjects covered on that exam must be taken in law school -- and often again in a bar review course just before taking the exam.

Whatever you do, do not go "prelaw" and take the general education courses, as some colleges offer this but it really doesn't prepare you for much. Criminal Justice is a GREAT way to start your path to becoming a lawyer. I have studied with several "lawyers-to-be" who have entered many fields as lawyers (environmental, business, criminal, etc. ). From there, you will go on to Law School. Goodluck
