in order to search for knowledge and for inner silence. to achieve a state of no-mind or learn ( suspended thoughts ) because one of the worst way to stop thoughts is about thinking about stopping them.

A big part of your problem is that you want a shortcut.

You are in charge. Tell your mind to be still. This takes practice, but you can do it.

sit in a chair, where you will not be bothered; close your eyes, and tell yourself (calmly) to be still. Nevermind the labels such as "no mind"; these only serve to confuse you with details. If you want peace, be at peace by realizing you are peace.

A particular sign of a 'skill' seeker, if the questioner is extreme sufficient!!!!! people spend lifetime, lifetimes, attempting to suitable this. in spite of the undeniable fact that, technologies of "Yoga" has nicely developed to decrease the attempt, and time to an important quantity. yet, the outcomes are, yet, proportional basically to the involvment and intensity of the seeker! to start, try being a mute, yet very alert listener to that inner communicate. slightly breath observing could help, to be practiced basically initially, to get the 'carry' of it. Shutting down the 5 experience organs, consciously could 'help' the efforts, in view that enter gadgets are somewhat minimised. no longer partaking in the communicate could decrease the intensity, and then it may finally come to a grinding halt. no person can ever "give up" the internal communicate, in view that that technique itself is definitely a communicate too!! At superb we are in a position to basically enable it to ensue, in all humility, meekly and innocently too! very superb needs. And a Deep and extremely respectful, and honest bow for having asked this efficient question!

Which inner dialog are you speaking of.
The ego chatter, Or divine guidance?

I can imagine anyone wanting to shut off their internal guidance.

If its the ego you want to shut up nothing does this better than the course in miracles.

Its fool proof.

If it is negative, tell it to go away in the name of Jesus. I believe inner dialogue of a negative nature or that is scary is satan at work. However, inner dialogue that is constanly reminding you or convicting you of something you may have done or haven't done that you need forgiving and guidance for. In this case, pray and ask for forgiveness and guidance from God.
