Generally speaking, do guys like girls who remain aloof, or are they more likely to go after a girl who smiles and shows she's interested?

Hard to get is stupid - if you like the guy, why play games? It's infuriating & I've lost interest in women who I know were interested because they did it.

i'm not sure what the ratio is where you live but in most cities there are more women than men. 4 to 1 in Atlanta. guys are more likely to approach a woman that smiles and shows that there may be some interest. why would anyone try to ask out someone that is acting as though they don't want to be asked out? now that is where the conquest begins. a girl that is easy to approach and easy to talk to is different than a girl that is easy to get into bed. everyone is different about this part. i was the kind of young man that had plenty of choices. i dated girls that i had sex with and i dated ones that i didn't have sex with. i knew what the rules were before the date and was mentally prepared for what ever happened. looking back i would have to say that i went out more times with the girls that didn't put out. sometimes i think the fun was in the trying not as much as the doing. at that age sex wasn't that good anyway. but it was great for experience.

I think that guys like someone who is (at first) a combination of both! Smile and show you are interested (you don't want to come off as unapproachable)...but, at the same time, show that you are worth the effort. A slight challange shows a girl who is discriminating about who she chooses to spend her time with. The idea is to keep a good balance of both and not too long and drawn out of a chase!
This kind of approach works two ways for girls...1) It let's the guy know that you are playful, but choosey about who you connect with. 2) It eliminates the guys who are just out for one thing...no guy looking for something easy would stick around to face the challenge!

Don't reject the guy you like! Unless you like to be played, because if you start playing games, you will automatically filter out all but the players.
The idea of "hard-to-get" is to look like you don't sleep around all the time, but in reality, it runs on a stereotype generally screws things up like all games do. Some of the cudliest women around are virgins.
Guys don't like to be rejected, and won't jump at the second chance to get rejected by the same woman.
Also, be careful! Iif you get in the habit of rejecting men you like, then it might turn you into a really bad girlfriend.

Be honest. It is not the same as being "easy to get". Guys can tell when a girl is desparate. TURN OFF! But most of us aren't all that thrilled when we show obvious signs of being interested and you don't return the feeling. If you aren't interested and that is the honest reaction, then more power to you. If you are interested, how ELSE are we able to tell if you don't give us SOME clue.

there is something to be said about working for a girls attentio but if you make it too hard well i can date slutty girls who dont care. so you have to balance dont break plans but pick why you are aloof and when and if you are consistanly aloof he will move on.

yes and no. It depends on on the individual. Be honest with them from the start.Then they have much respect for you. Those that do play hard to get can lead to harmful situation. such as rape. be careful for those who play these games.
