Start to mix regular food in with the low-calorie food, increasing the amount gradually each day. Within a few days, you'll have him back to his previous diet.

My three cats are all on Performatrin Ultra Slim Care and have been since it came out to Pet Valu. They reached their goal weights some time ago and we didn't want them to lose more weight, so now we just leave food out for them all the time and they have all maintained their weight. When they were dieting, we could only give them 1/2 cup each, and now they eat whatever they want. The food continues to be healthy and prevents them from gaining weight back.
Good Luck

Mix the Performatrin with whatever type of food you want to feed him. Decrease the amount of Performatrin every week. If the result is that he gets wise to you and decides not to eat the other food, you may be stuck feeding him the Performatrin..But maybe it will work.

keep him on that, but if he starts to lose anymore weight add about 1/8 of a cup of food onto what he is already getting. If he doesn't lose more weight in 2-3 weeks then keep him at the same food level he is now. Take him to the vet about once a week to every other week to get checked for his weight...unless you can weigh him at home. Good job getting him downsized...cats are stubborn and take a lot of work to diet.

you might have to bring out the secret weapon....TUNA! i would try mixing the diet food with the new food, and add more and more of the new food each time. if that doesnt work, mix the 2 and add a bit of the juice from the tuna. then just put less and less over time. also... cats are pretty stubborn, but if they're hungry enough theyll eat. just make sure they cant get to any other food.

You really have to sneak up on cats when you switch foods. If you click on the icon at my name I have a "recipe" for success.

I'm guessing that he can't continue on that food. Have you talked to your vet about it? Is there anything he was eating previous to his diet that he really liked?
