In my understanding of Life, that is all we do is live for The Master. The Creator. If you are familiar with the concept of Karma, then the idea that we live solely to die isn't abstract to you, or if it is then it won't be for long. I never said I was a christian. In fact, I see enough life in the universe to believe that the death that apparently clips our level or life doesn't exist... but that's rambling. Answer: The creator created life, therefor in life is the praise. In the acknowledgement of the praise is our only stregnth, but we get distracted and thus the power is diffused. It is the christians or muslims or jehova's witnesses or others that think we choose the master and others have the choice to serve or not. It is our weakness that we attribute to Our Father. There is only life.

Your Question is very intelligent
Lord Chaitanya was asked this question, as to what is the nature of the Soul.
He answered that "Eternal Service to God is the true nature of Soul". If soul does not engage in service to God, then he will continue to serve his body, his senses, his family, his socitey, his country, and if he does not get any thing, then he keeps a Dog and serves a Dog. He takes the dog to street and the dog is passing Stool and the person stands there - "Yes sir, I am here to serve you"...
However these masters are described as "Misers and Exploiters" - they are never satisfied with our service and keeps demanding us more and more service till even the point we die..
But God is not that type of Master. He is very satisfied even if one does little service to him, and awards him sumptuously..
You cannot live without serving others. But foolish people think that service to God is same as the current service to misers and will not take to it..
