I go to a inter-denom College, and my friends all go on missions trips, and from what it sounds like they just seem to play with kids and build stuff, or clean up stuff. Is it also trying to convert people? I am Catholic, so I'm kind of disturbed when my friends go to Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, Belgium, all countries with high populations of Catholics, so if they weren't there to convert people from Catholicism, then what are they there for?

So, you say that people are born without sin? What freaky denomination do you belong to? Most christians believe that children were born with original sin. Why would people need to be baptised if they were sinless?

Mission trips are mostly for the purpose of serving others and helping your fellow man in the name of Jesus. Some mission trips are for the purpose of conversion, but most are not.

Non-denominational is usually associated with truth and a valid interpretation of the scriptures. From its beginnings, catholicism has been twisting the truth of the gospel, claiming that the church has authority to change the Word of God and placing the "traditions of the church" on par with scripture.

Almost no catholics have done what the scriptures teach was to be done when a person becomes a Christian. The "official positions" of the church are OFTEN OPPOSED TO SCRIPTURE. I have helped bring many people to Christ who had formerly been lied to by their priests and thought they were following the scriptures - at the same time, I have LED WORSHIP IN a catholic church.

...Ezekiel 18 makes it pretty clear that children are not charged with their ancestors' sins. Why do catholics "baptize" babies if they have no sin? Why do catholics "baptize" babies when there is NO SCRIPTURAL EVIDENCE for such a practice? Oh, tradition is more important than scripture... I forgot.

Eze 18:1 A message came to me from the LORD. He said,
2 “You people have a proverb about the land of Israel. What do you mean by it? It says, “‘The parents eat sour grapes. But the children have a bitter taste in their mouths.’
3 “You will not use that proverb in Israel anymore,” announces the LORD and King. “And that is just as sure as I am alive.
4 Everyone belongs to me. Father and son alike belong to me. People will die because of their own sins.
...
Eze 18:19 “But you still ask, ‘Is the son guilty along with his father?’ No! The son did what was fair and right. He was careful to keep all of my rules. So you can be sure he will live.
-->20 People will die because of their own sins. The son will not be guilty because of what his father did. And the father will not be guilty because of what his son did. The right things a godly person does will be added to his account. The wrong things a sinful person does will be charged against him. 21 “But suppose a sinful person turns away from all of the sins he has committed. And he keeps all my rules. He does what is fair and right. Then you can be sure he will live. He will not die. 22 None of the sins he has committed will be held against him. Because of the godly things he has done, he will live. 23 “When sinful people die, it does not give me any joy,” announces the LORD and King. “But when they turn away from their sins and live, that makes me very happy.
