Depends on the job you choose.

Each service has a HUGE variety of jobs and duties, but generally speaking...

In war, Navy is safer than Army(and Marines), but much more dangerous than the Air Force.

In peace the Navy is the most dangerous service, as there are many hazardous tasks to perform, and warships of all kinds can be a dangerous place if even a small mistake is made.

I always thought so. You rarely hear of casualties in the Navy. But there are some navy jobs that arent on the sea. For example, the navy bomb squad is very dangerous. They have to go out, locate and disarm any explosived or IEDs. And helicopters are prime RPG and STINGER targets. Coast Guard is somewhat dangerous, expecially during times of a natural disaster like Katrina. And they also assist the Navy during times of conflict and perform Search and Rescue.

each force has its good an bad points..you might want to note that the navy is looking at sending a LOT of ships to that area in the near future [not spilling the beans its ALL over the Navy News] and like it was said above the bomb squad dogs go everywhere ALL the time.........also alot of Navy are being sent to do rear section jobs so that the Army can move up closer to the action................

Air Force might be the better of them all...Husband Navy Son Air Force..............and husband was a recruiter for the Navy and gently pushed away from that side of life........

I think the Coast Guard would be the safest. My father was in the Navy and he always told me to go into the Air Force or Coast Guard.

If you consider all the things that can go wrong, like getting blown off the flight deck, sucked into an intake, shipboard fires, and just getting scared sh!tless, safe, then the answer is yes.Everyone thinks the Navy is easy.I worked on Aircraft carriers, trust me,it's dangerous.

Definately... Marines and Army are definately the most rigorous. Then Navy, Airforce, Coast Gaurd.. and so on. If you want the safest, go Airforce. Good luck!

People die in The Navy all the time. Fall off ship, sucked into a jet, terrorist attack your ship in port. While working at a desk in the Pentagon, A plane comes through.... Stuff happens.

Depends on who and when is thinking about it or doing it. Me, personally, I'd kinda wait till the war is over and Bush is behind bars or at least wait till the war is over and Rummy is fired!

Better living conditions, but a trade off on dangers, you are getting paid to have people and other things shoot and throw things at you, on a ship the things they throw at you are bigger.
