This is not a simple issue for the reason that we are in a land that used to belongs to Mexicans, Mexicans do not see it as an illegal action to cross the border because they still see this land as theirs. Not too long US used to pay Mexicans to come to this side and help. Most Mexicans that live in Mexico still have family that owns land here, so the wall is a new thing and remember it was the corrupt Mexican government that sold the land and not their people. US took advantage of the unsteady government to "buy" this land. And I am not going to say STEAL because some of you are getting offended.

That was nicely put though, but don't forget the Indians, who rightfully were here first. They were unjustifiably sent out.

You have a ridiculous, skewed logic. And, I seriously doubt that any Mexican family owns land here in the United States as the result of having owned it while it still belonged to Mexico. That would have been immediately and permanently nullified when the land went under US control.

Families that DID own land here before Mexico relinquished control should take it up with the Mexican government. I am guessing that they would be laughed at, as they would be if they talked to the US government.

Hey, it sucks, but it is life.

so does that mean since I am part Cherokee Indian I should lobby to get everyone except Native Americans out of MY country?
The past is the past. if I am starving and don't see anything wrong in stealing food to survive does that mean it is OK to steal?
What if I am not starving and just hungry?
Where do you draw the line?---the law is that line
I am sorry that some Mexicans feel they have a RIGHT to be here because without the proper documentation they don't.

I can understand and appreciate the desperation felt by the illegal aliens and their pursuit of the idea that if they just make it to the US everything will be better, but that is not a rational or acceptable excuse for being here illegally.

It is a fact of history that governments have done things that the people did not like. BUT that does NOT give anyone the freedom to act like a criminal and being an illegal immigrant and living off the country you are illegally in IS criminal!

The person above me makes very valid points. They know they are wrong. Only a criminal mind can rationalize what they do and it is wrong.

Amnesty will NOT work!! Read your history books!!

I understand that this is no longer Mexican territory, so they might as well get over it, and it will never be Mexican territory again, the land they claim, they stoled form the Indians.

And your question is? That still doesn't make it right for the hispanics that I come across to look at me wrong , I didn't do anything to anyone hispanic or otherwise ... but my suggestion to your people is to learn some common courtesy and customer service before they take on these customer srevice jobs... nothing is worse than to spend your hard earned money at some of these establishments and the cashiers or whoever are suppose to help you but they have an attitude ....

Well...this is the U.S. and south is Mexico. This is NO longer Mexican territory. We didn't steal land...we bought it. The wall keeps these people who are trying to claim their land back (which you are implying) out of the U.S. We need someway to protect our borders.

Ok so you say they don't think they are breaking the law by coming over the border. Do they think they are breaking the law when they forge documents to get a job? Do think they are breaking the law when they steal or buy someone else's social security number? Do they think they are breaking the law when they don't pay income tax? Do they think they are breaking the law when they drive without insurance and drivers license? When do they think they are breaking the law?

Things change. Why have laws if they are not going to be enforced? Most of the US was owned by Native Americans, do we allow them to break laws just because we now have this land?

I seriously doubt they are coming here since they think their land was stolen. I have family in Mexico and here in the US and never was national pride or getting our land back on their minds.

It's all about finding work, and nothing else.
