The man was barely ever hit in any of his fights. He spent most of his career making people look stupid not being able to hit him.Worst punch ever landed on him was a left hook by Joe Frasier.I've seen every one of his fights(even though I'm not sure of the spelling of Joe's name).Even many doctors do not agree this is the reason for his illness. Why is everyone so convinced it was the boxing?Julio Ceasar Chavez spent most of his career blocking punches with his head.He doesn't have Parkinsons.Sooo???

In my opinion, it's just plain ignorance. These people who say "Look what happened to Ali" have no idea what they're talking about. It's just the very nature of boxing that gives them their moment of genious.
I have to disagree with you on one of your points though, Ali was hit a lot and hit really hard just because he had a great chin and didn't go down every time he got cracked people seem to think he didn't get hit often. Joe Frazier hit really hard and landed a lot of clean punches to Ali's head and body. Ken Norton broke "The Greatest" jaw. Ernie Shavers one of the hardest hitting heavyweights in the history of boxing landed a lot of shots to Ali's head.
Early in Ali's career he was hurt badly by a guy by the name of Henry Cooper so bad the Angelo Dundee had to cut Ali's glove in the corner to buy time so Ali could recuperate.
Ali's condition is indeed sad and has nothing to do with boxing but it's because of his condition that it's hard to say if he has pugilistic demtia and what the effects really are.
Thanks for the question Joe.

some people who think boxing should be banned will say anything to try to prove their case. ali would have had parkinsons if he had never boxed. he is lethargic and his speech is halting because of the medication he must have, not boxing. and if something really moves him, his eyes light up & he becomes animated.check out the olympic torchlighting ceremony and his appearance on arsenio hall for examples. the man is still very intelligent

I'm not a Dr. I guess people just jump to conclusions. I got to see him fight once before he was champ and I had never seen anyone that fast as a heavy weight. I knew he would be a great one.

if u really looked at all of those u would see that he let people like George forman beat the crap out of him for 11 rounds then knock them out. he also suffered a few knock outs. in his training sessions he let his sparring partner beat him up bad so he could prepare for the fights. spending most of ur life taking shots to the head can mess u up. and Chavez wasn't fighting power hitters like Ali was. i new a guy that started having seizures after he started boxing. it takes its toll
